So I more of less ran out of Summer, I was hoping to get the floor framed in and having the body mouted in place, close but no cigar. So thats every magnet I could buy at the time,I have more now it's not perfect but looks ok .I was a little rushed to say the least, things were getting cold and it was raining every other day at this point. welding is about 50% done, I still need to add so cross members and some gussetsand extend it further back and strengthen it up.. After I beef it up some more,I might clean off the surface rust and paint it to protect it but problem is when I add to it I'll have to take the paint off again...

I also snagged some odd and sods from machines they were tossing at work.I know what I'm using them for, I have plans , it should be cool...reallyI decided to put up my portable garage again, big pain in the ass, putting it up in the icy cold rain sucks even more. Yee haw Ice storm, i was lucky I was only without heat and power for 24 hours,My parents went 4 days without power, but they have a fireplace and a few generators. there is a half inch of ice on everything. trees down everywhere the night of the rain you could see what looked like green lightning flashes every few minutes, just transformers exploding . Later......

Adam, great to see you again. Wondered where ya went. I have a question for you. I see on your photos where you lowered your floor pan below the frame. How did you come up with the correct height? Im almost at that step.

Not sure about Adam, but for me I collapsed the suspension on the car so that it was sitting on its bump stops. That gave me the "bottom out" point on the car.
I then took the seat that I was using and kept propping it up with 1/2" plywood from the ground and closing the canopy. I then found the height I liked that gave me both good visibility out of the front window as well as enough head room clearance from the canopy.
That gave me my measurement on how far down I needed to sink the floor pans.

Thanx James good to be back never really left, still lurking in the shadows, watching and learning...plotting....ummm nevermind.. Like Brce said I got everything as low as I could on the bump stops. Estimated where my seats would sit.I didn't have a chance to mod the bases yet and lower them. And what I figured would be safe if I lost a tire ect. Flipped a coin and started cutting.. If I need to go lower I can always put a pan inside the pan.. if I need to go higher I'll have to give the car away because I wont fit...I have short legs and a long torso my head touches in pretty much every car I have ever been in, I'm going to have to tilt the seat back alot. in order to fit... Later Also James post pics

Ive been looking over your posts again and I must give you some "tough man" points for doing your build outside. I do not have a shop or closed in garage but I do have two 2 car open garages to work under. Guess theres something to be said about welding in the rain.
