Ok car is uncovered the weather is nice time to get restarted on this beotch . cleaned up all my steel from last year and started planning out the inner cage..

I have a question for those with their airbags installed how high are they when deflated including the extra metal bits I assume for support on the ends?

Just wondering how much of a gap I need to leave in order for them to fit.

I dont want to have to chop and drop the cage after I make it..

and as you can see in the pic still have some body work todo..

laters

Hi Adam,

You might find these two blog posts that I did around mounting the body useful information.

Adam, I am at the stage of building the cockpit area and I cant decide how deep the floorpans need to sit. Do they dit level with the bottom of the frame? Top of the frame? Below the frame? Should I get some seats and use that as part of my measurements? ugh

Seems I have a bat in my belfry

What I did was placed the body where I wanted it with the canopy in-place with my seats inside. Then I kept shimming the seats up higher with plywood beneath them until I had them where I wanted. It is about getting the right amount of head room that you like with the seat reclined in the position you like while driving.

Then take your measurement from the bottom of the frame rail to the bottom of the seat. Then get to work.

For me, my floor pans sit below my frame rails and are about at the same level as the bottom of my transmission pan.

I'm still not sure about the floor yet the corner to corner pieces are just tacked in in case I want to remove them so it leaves me with a large rectangular opening I may make a box that will drop into the hole and I can get my seats lower, my last test fit I still wouldn't be able to close the canopy my head still gets in the way, but since then I've taken the guts off the bottom of the seats and they should be alot closer now.. if I get the body back on this weekend i'll give it a try..

Oh James we need pics... don't turn into another Nitro.....

Hello Adam,

I just had some questions about your tires. Are they the Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pros? If so, do they need tubes?
