First and foremost before I begin I would like to thank everyone  that has contributed to this site one way or another throughout the years, without it I wouldn't have attempted something like this ......OK I would have but chances are my shell would end up as some sort of lawn ornament...

Anyways thank you all, and I will try not to disappoint...OK maybe a little.....

Lets get started shall we.

First something about me, my name is Adam currently 41 years old (this number should change every April 7 th), Unholy is something I picked up while playing video games online. (short version of the storey is I pretty much decimated the other team without dying once , some guys were talking about me one guy says man that was evil, the other guy say no that was unholy..... so I took the name) for those that care the game was Team Fortress mod for Quake 1 Canal zone map)

Im a geek pure and simple, I've always been into Batman,  from comics to statues art, video games, costumes ect. I just can't seem to quench that thirst.

This car should help...

This is how it all began.

Last year in September I was at the Barrie Automotive flea market, picture if you will farmers fields filled with nothing but cars and car parts you can walk through it in a day only if you don't stop and look at anything.

There's alot of cool shit from classic cars to motorcycles a bit of everything if you are into cars this is the place to be it runs 4 days and I think this will be going on 42 yeas now...

so while there I found this.

If you look close you can see the 17,000 dollor price tag. I did not buy it and this is not my car.I left with a few pictures and my interest was peaked. I thought if it was like 10 grand I might consider it. and that was almost the end of it almost.....

I had mentioned it to the resident car guy at work who also goes to the car show , he said he saw one on Kijiji ( more or less a buy and sell ) I checked it out and all i could find was one for 40 k that needed a motor, I think this may have been the Orangeville one, that Tim was gathering info on...

Anyways the guy at work said what he saw was just a shell, and it was what I consider rather cheap.. (again I have no idea what an actual quality shell goes for or for that matter what a quality shell is.)

So began the research,The first site I came across was this one but with limited access it only went so far but far enough to nudge me toward buying it..and through this I found Tim's site sent him a couple of emails, he said it was going to be hard work and possibly a little frustrating but he wouldn't trade it for the world...The guy at work printed out the Kijiji ad, and called the ownwer to get any info he could. The current owner was going through some personal issues and had to sell . I called him the next day and chatted for a awhile, gave me the storey of his plans for the car and why he had to sell. He seemed like a good guy and decided to check it out.. So on Christmas eve my dad my brother and I took the drive east of Toronto to look at this badboy...

I had to buy it........

more to come have to get ready for work

Later

So where was I before I was so rudely interupted by whats that thing called oh yes a DAY JOB

So went out checked out the car, It looked good some expected issues but from what i could see it looked straight and level.

I think right there I had decided to buy it The owner again great guy but couldn't keep it I kinda felt bad that he had to part with it. So we went inside to talk price i asked him right out what he wanted for it , and the first number he said was a grand lower than what he was asking in the ad.

SOLD...

I asked him if he had any way to get it from there to my place, he had a trailer but needed to rent a truck, he said 300 bucks would cover rental, gas and time, I actually offered him 400 to bring it out (I was feeling a little guilty) and he said no 300 was fine..

Again great guy....

OK so ya bought yourself a BATMOBILE now what, where you going to put it dumb ass.......ummmmmmmmmmm

F#@%ED if I know.

So the day before X-mas I bought a batmobile, It will arrive New Years DAY, I don't have a garage, I don't have a car and for what it's worth I COULDN"T EVEN BE BOTHERED TO GET MY DRIVERS LISCENCE EVER.

Yup 40 years old and I don't even drive, never needed to. I used to work downtown Toronto hey thats why we have a subway. and now it takes me 15 minutes to walk to work (factory supervisor) Or as I like to think of it afternoon shift baby sitter....

So anyways where the F do I put it, Driveway no problem I don't drive and  I have space to put 4 Batmobiles but do I really want people actually knowing it's there yet uhhhh no, back yard it is.

Not going to put it in the mud I would have said snow but we didn't have winter this year cancelled nobody wanted it so F you Mother Nature, so built a platform and was going to tarp it for the winter......

So car arrives Newyears day, It was the longest wait of my life a whole freaking week and it seemed like an eterinity.

My sympathies to those that had to wait months and months I can't iimagine what it must have been like.

Also my apologies for this NAH NA NA NAH NA NAAAA

And it fits.....

I decided to beef up protection on the car in case the snow came ,

So went to my local Crappy Tire store and bought a portable garage 12 x 20, got it home and being late in the day was going to assemble it in the morning (morning starts around noon for me by the way) i have been working an afternoon shift for 14 years my internal clock has been adjusted accordingly.

Before I went to bed I decide to see if I could find an average set up time for the garage, during my travels  through the mighty interweb i found some disturbing info about the portable garage, well it's not really made for wind, yea so should you decide to buy one ya might want to check and see if you can actually put it outside....

WTF not made for wind further investigation was one horror storey after another with pictures of it collapsed on a new car. Wait a sec I have a new car and it falls apart if you breath on it so it went back the next day and low and behold right on the box not made for windy conditions.. but but there is wind outside if i could set it up inside I wouldn't need a F'n garage..

So returned it and bought a Lincoln 180 welder. Good deal got the welder , auto tint mask, gloves, dvd, and a brush for 600 bucks, right now the welder alone goes for over 800 here, one problem though it's 220 volt I don't have an outlet yet, but my electrician at work says it won't be a problem well thats what he said when I bought it and that was almost 5 months ago still no plug yet, and to think I let him take pictures of his kids in the freezing rain in front of the car....

Ok bought one anyways figured i would take my chances.. and it dropped to 200 bucks, if it survived the winter I got my moneys worth, and to my surprise it actually held up rather good no issues at all, and it got windy really really windy. BIG THUMBS UP.....

The search for a  donor car begins.....How can I put this , this sucked, this sucked large.....

So based of info from this site and current builds I was looking for a Caprice, Crown Vic , something as big as a boat.... sure there has to be lots of em, well there is, usually with about 400k on em and the only thing holding them together is the rust.

I don't want rust....After about a dozen tries for things in my price range which I figure should be about a grand for something I'm going to throw half of it out, Oh and people if you post an ad on a buy and sell try returning phone calls and emails or remove your add if you manage to sell it. Don't put up an ad if you can't sell it for another 3 weeks.

I was on my way east of Toronto with my old man and brother expecting to look at a 92 caprice with 80 k on it for 800 bucks with electerical problems, I didn't care most of it will be dumped anyways. Dude had said to call him on Saturday while on my way out so he could be ready. no answer nothing and then I get a text an hour later he had sold it during the week .....thanks for the info .....DICK.....

I decided to expand my search to include things outside my price range 2000 dollars, first hit was a block from my house. A 1991 Caprice with 112 k on it, for the most part mint condition couple of minor external scratches no external rust, I called em, we met looked over the car, from what we could see on the frame just minor surface rust no holes good sign. Didn't really want to spend 2 grand on it though so I thought if he goes to $1500 I'd buy it. So again using my superior barganing skills I said "what will he you take for it?" he replies "how about a grand" SOLD....

Swapped plates and battery off my brothers truck, My brother drove it to my place, The guy I bought it from drove me to the nearest instant teller to get the cash. removed the plates and battery back to his place got a bill of sale, and later in the week got it switch over to my name....which is really easy when you don't have a license or insurance... go figure...

Looking over the kit....

From what I was told from the original seller it was from Gotham Cruisers and looking at the other kits on this site seems pretty accurate..nothing stands out saying it isn't.

It looks great not sure if the previous owner had done any work to it or not but alot of the seams are pretty good, a little rough around the taillights and fins and the body needs a good sanding and a what will probably be  a ton of Bondo I am absolutley thrilled at the quality of the shell. Once I remove the garage I'll finally be able to get some real measurements of of it for my stretch, seems like the common number for the wheelbase stretch is 141 inches...Not going to do it untill I know for sure...

Later tonight Caprice tear down...
