Batmobile

Got a good deal of work done on the chassis this weekend before the temp dropped and started raining. With the help of my brother in law and father in law we were able to finish removing the rest of the wiring and the a/c unit. Both were removed carefully and fully intact. I removed the seat tracks but I'm not sure if they can be used with different seats. Just figured it would save me money. As far as the a/c goes I removed the box from the inner firewall and found that it basically comes in three pieces. I am going to cut the box down to keep just the blower, a/c and heater core I'll use a metal plate on both sides of the box to seal it and then cut round holes to run two hoses to use as vents into the cockpit. I'm not worried with hooking up the different vacuum lines as I just want basic air. Not sure that I want to tackle adding defrost. But I did keep the parts for defrost in case I get froggy down the road.

As far as the above photo we used one of our huge wreckers with a boom to hook cables to the body and we lifted it straight off the chassis. I was so nervous thinking that I missed cables or wires or bolts that I didn't unhook. The wrecker we were using was so large that it would have not even noticed that the frame was still accidentally attached to the body. That being said, after triple checking everything the body lifted off without an issues. I'll be taking the entire body to the salvage yard to sell for scrap and get some of my money back.

I'll be taking the chassis to my friends shop Wednesday and have it lengthened. Most excited! I feel like I'm making good strides

Nothing really new to add over the holidays. Getting back started today on the frame after I get off work. Plan to get the frame to my guy to stretch it and while its at his facility I plan to start sand blasting and painting parts to get it ready for the next step. Theres no rust on the frame, but figured while i had it stripped to the frame it would be a good to just clean it up and paint it black.

Special shout out to my buddy Crow. He sent me a set of bats for the hubcaps. I am having a close friend of the family to lazer cut me a set in different sizes and thicknesses. Most likely use one for the center cap on the steering wheel.
