Tim did you use your firewall? I got a good bit accomplished today. Got 95% of the unwanted dash parts removed. Its looking a lot smaller after removing the a/c duct work. Tomorrow I way take out a few more unused items under the hood like windshield wiper motor, wiper fluid container etc. I also need to find a good book on the caprice wiring.. ii drove the car around today for kicks and got the strangest looks from the people in this town. Ii was also amazed at how much more pep the car had after removing so much metal.

Congrats! What a great find at a great price.

The Highest Of Distinctions Is Service To Others

If you can contribute to others, no matter how small your talent, you too can become successful. The measure of anyone is the number of people that they serve.

Service to others is the essence of success. No one achieves success without being of service. All great men and women became successful because they gave some talent or ability in the service of others.

Nope, everything was scrapped.. basically kept the chassis, running gear, wiring harness (which I eventually scrapped), ECU, pedal assembly, brake booster and that was about it.

Batmobile

Picked up my Bat yesterday morning from Doug. Made my trek from Augusta Ga all the way to Dayton Ohio. Straight shot up I-75 and 10.5 hours one way. Was it worth it? YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT! Doug and his staff were so kind. The car looks amazing.

Tell you about the trip..... First off I have to give a shout out to Shaggy for helping me get a hotel room in Dayton. That was a huge finacial help, Thanks Brother! I forced a fellow law enforcement officer to ride with me to help drive the truck and trailer if i got tired. He shows up at the house that morning about 11 a.m.,after I just got off from pulling a 12 hour shift, and we loaded up and headed out. First thing I ask him was he used to towing a long trailer. His reply "Hell no! Ive never hauled a trailer of any kind in my life." Yay me lol. Anyways, We get to Dayton that night without a issue. First time ever seeing Cincinnati in person and I can tell you that its an amazing sight to see at night. We get to Dayton and we find the hotel that Shaggy got for me. Go to the check in and the lady tells me that the company just got a new software upgrade and it had huge glitches in it. No biggie right? Ha! She gives me two cards to the room. I get to the door and niether card works even with me tired and putting my shoulder in the door just in case the door was stuck. I goback to the front desk and tell her the issue and she reswipes the cards. I go back and the first card doesnt work again. At this time, Im beyond sleepy and taking the doors refusal to open for me personal. I use the second card and bam! the door opens... I storm in the room ready to hit the bed and what do i find? A big fat harry naked white guy alseep on the bed......Over the sheets.... I then go back to the front desk and ask the woman if they ran out of chocolate mints to leave on the pillows and started using fat naked men?  She didnt find humor in my question. I got another room that was great and I crashed out.

Got up the next morning and hit the road. Shaggy couldnt have gotten me any closer to Dougs Shop. It was literally 5 minutes away. I meet Doug in person for the first time and I must say that he is a real gentleman. He and his staff we so kind and helped me with several of the questions that I had for the build. We loaded the bat beast on my fathers 18 foot Featherlite car trailer. It hung over both sides and we had to squeeze the rear fenders closer together just to make it fit on the trailer right.  People that have already made this trek have told me that this is when the fun begins. Hauling this thing back I was almost run off the road 3 or 4 times by people trying to take photos of the car. Lost count of all the thumbs up and huge smiles from the people passing by. Oooh and let me tell you, stopping for gas was an adventure each and every time. I stopped in Cincinati for gas first. An hour and forty five minutes later I was able to get back on the road. People came out from everywhere to take pictures of the bat. People asked to have thier pics taken and they all had tons of questions. Even had an older gentleman walk up and ask me if that was one of them new rocket cars. Not knowing what he ment exactly I just said yes.

We made it back to my house in one piece and I was so happy to get out of my truck. I wanted to wake up the kids at 1 am this morning for them to see it. Due to the evil look of death and bodly harm that my wife shot me I decided that it would be in my best interest to wait till they got up to get ready for school.   Needless to say, soon as the kidos woke up we ran outside and checked out the car. Not sure who was more excited, me or them.

Well If you have read this far on my novel that I just wrote I must say thankyou.  More pics incoming.

Seems I have a bat in my belfry

Batmobile

Heres two extremely nice ladies that wanted thier pic taken with the bat. They were fun to talk with. Both were huge Batman fans. They got excited when they heard they were going to be added to CLTC. Guess Chicks really do love the car!

Side note, DH can you post this pic again in a place that they can see it? I gave the the site and they were going to look us up.

This thread already is in public section so you can show off or link whatever you want. Anything you said so far has already been captured and sent to WB lawyers daily and will be used against you.

As an online stalker and law officer, this is something you should know already.

I was reading this post few weeks ago. Excited the see your building car and need to watch this post more. Sorry I was thinking you was going to put it up in couple of more weeks. Working 7 days a week the last 4 weeks has gone by so fast. I live in south Dayton and would have enjoyed meeting you at Doug's shop. So sorry I didn't post the idea when I first was thinking of it.
I moved my plans on ordering my body until Feb/March 2014. I ordered a new insulated garage door and should be on within next two weeks. Looking at 10x16 garden shed this weekend, to get mowers out of garage. I have a Stealth twin-turbo and turbos went bad and that needs fixed first. Plus wife car has leaking sunroof that needs fixing. Other then that I'm checking Craigslist daily for donor car.
Anyway I enjoy reading all the buildups here and peoples personal websites. Looking forward to watching your car get built. Again sorry I missed ya coming to Dayton
