| OK now I start Phase two of the Honu1. The Honu1 is a non functioning mock-up in which I could draw measurements for a new and improved I call the Honu2 Surfin Silver. I've had some time to test ride the Surfin Silver bike and its a little difficult in the handling department. I have seen many opportunities to improve the handling with some simple modifications. Tonight I started the fiberglassing for the second Honu1 that will be a fully functioning bike and some of those handling issues will be addressed on this bike. One of my main focuses on the honu1 is that transfer case. I'm going to call it a transfer case because it transfers power from the left side sprocket to the right rear axle. In pics I can see a short chain going to the round tube connecting the front engine frame and the transfer case. Within that round tubing runs two bearings with a main sprocket. The top of the transfer case shows two humps which I will assume to be two separate sprockets running over and under. Near the middle of the transfer case there is a definite chain tensioner which I will put inside internally. The chain continues to the tail of the transfer case where it connects to a jack shaft carrying the rotation of the sprocket to another sprocket within the pipe that connects to the rear arms. The chain rides forward in the top tube and backwards in the rear tube. A chain tensioner will need to be adapted here within the bottom tube. From the rear axle sprocket to the wheel is exactly like the Honu2 so all that machining has been figured out and it is bulletproof. 1.The catch on all this is to improve the one to one ratio of the transfer case. 2.Put a reversing mechanism within the transfer case.3. And the final whooper will be to have the bike's chassis move up and down like the movie bike. I have a good idea how it can be done using a linear actuator that I just happen to have from my first try on the 89 canopy. This actuator was too powerful and slow to be used on the canopy but strangely perfect on the Honu1. But incorporating all these components within the transfer case will be the challenge. I plan on creating a couple videos on MIG welding as well as a few more fiberglassing videos. My goal of finishing the gun cluster, making another sets of Honu1 chest plates and arm guards and fabing up this transfer case will keep me busy. Thanks for looking....BWD

| I've had a request by a good friend to build an original chest plate and a set of arm guards, There's quite a bit of time and material involved in creating a set of molds, pull those pieces and the possibility that I may damage the originals. This is due to the high temperatures created by the resin in the tooling gel coat. Therefore I'm wondering if there are any current or future Batpod builders that would be interested in purchasing a set. After the molds are pulled and the parts put back on the Big Mahalo batpod replica the bike will go into a showroom we are creating for the vehicles. If you have any interest please PM or email me so I can create a list. Im not sure of the price but as I am saying the amount of interest will maybe prove to make this possible. I'll be posting some pics soon of the chest plate and the arm guards. Oh the fiberglass pieces will have to be painted but I can also do that if needed. Thanks for looking...Big Wave Dave

Interesting... Some pics and dimensions would be needed. The tank spring cover would need to line up, but the arm covers seems fairly universal.
