The cool part today was to lift the body panels to the ride height that the actual car will have. Struggled with this layout of the roof arrow Saturday night. Measurements were all off. So I slept on it and today it just all fell into place so the arrow is cut out. Now I went ahead and cut it down the middle which I know is not movie vehicle correct but I like the look of that on the Rumbler and it gives the side a little curve look to it. This is kinda crazy detailed in this area and hard to get correct. Oh that's my Walmart toy I used as a reference for the Tribute Rumbler....BWD

Was hoping to get my nephew to help me with some sanding since hes a little down and out but when I went to meet my mother in law and wifey at the resturaunt after church. I found out Andy went home instead to sleep. He wants to straighten his life out I told my wifey he needs to be awake when normal people are awake. I guess he was playing video games all last night,,,,,Nice....So far Ive been doing all the panel work alone but that's OK its very relaxing for me.... Figured with the nose panel being 21 inches and Shaggy told me the full scale is 31 inches long we deducted this scale is 2/3 rds scale. Which is good to know.BWD

So I had breakfast with my family then my wifey wants to plant flowers. So we go by lowes and she picks out her flowers. Finally by 12:00 noon I'm ready to start fiberglassing. Well I had to stop and dig her some holes for the plants, then I volunteered to dig out this big Butterfly Iris plant and finally I had to do all the clean up. My wifey is so funny when shes done with a tool she just leaves it there. Drives me a little nutty but I don't say anything but pick it up and return it to its correct location. That's why I've been married for 25 years. Oh yeah to the same lady.

Linning up the front nose piece to the front pod and still drilled it wrong . Oh well fiberglass the wrong hole in and redrill it....BWD

Was going to bring over some lambo seats for the MiniT but theres no way those would fit. So I think Im going to have to find some small bomber seats. Not really liking the windshield set up as it looks like a hole with a window gasket which it is. Might like to inset a little and hide the gasket. Oh also use safety glass.

Here's the arrowhead panel. Its been fiberglassed and was one of the many pieces I had to remove the tabbing bondo. I think I have tabbing elbow from all that chiseling....BWD

Came out with a big potential problem on the second panel set. I will have to play with them tomorrow when my brain is clear. This shows the panel misalignment clearly. Going to bed now I will sleep on it. Thanks for looking....BWD

Hey War Machine, I appreciate the kind words. Was planning on moving forward a bit on the miniT but had to run up and cover a pool dig. Looks like we have two possible sign ups today. That's a good think. Going to the high desert on Thursday so I feel my forward momentum slipping away lol.
Yeah my wife and kids are my pride and joy making me a very lucky guy. Thanks again.BWD

Today I moved forward on the miniT just a mini more. I had just completed fiberglassing the roof arrow halves and the second  side arrow panel when my business partner called and asked if I could cover a new dig. Yeah no problem. I actually left my two pieces outside thinking I was coming right back within a couple hours. Well four hours at the dig turned into lunch and by the time we were done it was time for our first appointment. We ran three today so by the time I got home it was 8:30pm. Luckily my parts were still outside. Thought I had the morning off but just set up an 11:00 am apt to go with my 7:00pm appt. Im going to jump on the panels first thing and hopefully get a couple hours in, in the morning. I bring this up because many people think they have no time to build a project. Well I hate to tell you but none of us has any time, myself included. You got to find time. Everyday just a couple more tasked completed. We have a question in construction when you have a massive project to complete. How do you eat an elephant?.....One bite at a time. All these projects are like eating an elephant. I pick up a lot of time by not watching television. When I built the Tribute Rumbler I didn't watch TV for almost 3 years. I was told by friends I didn't miss much. Heres a pic of aligning the two slanting panels

Had a person I really admire ask me in confidence how much I would charge to build a Rumbler or an 89 replica. I was taken by surprise because this person could have asked a number of people. It was very humbling. He knows I do not build replicas to sell but would be interested in partnering with him so he could get his own car. Not sure what he is going to decide, but some times it can make your day to have been considered.

This is exactly where this piece interlocks and will be fiberglassed together. The lower panels in the pic have too much angle so they will need to be cut apart and refiberglassed together. very tedious work indeed!...BWD

Just going to post one more pic as I need my sleep for tomorrow. I plan on being in New York and Washington DC in the first week of October. So if any of my CLTC buddies wants to get together for a cup of coffee PM me it would be nice to meet the faces behind the handles.

This is where I think I am missing a panel. So this will have to be cut apart, angles readjusted, new piece added. then hold with bondo, fiberglass seam, remove and sand bondo just to be back where I am now. I just love this stuff!!! Goodnight all. Hope all your projects move forward and you become a "finisher"....BWD
