stevo (12/20/2012) I' Also would these just be the paper blueprints?
Yes, its been suggested to me not to give out the CAD model, this way I can keep my claim on it as the creator. BUT every ounce of information would be detached from it. The templates would look like these:
But rather than each panel dissected down to individual pieces like the photo above, it would be a complete panel, full scale printed, with angles (definitely) and (if i can get the program to do it) length's of each individual line.
The chassis poses more of a problem, since parts intersect in strange ways, but its not impossible obviously. I will have to do some brain storming on that one to determine the best way to go about that. I need to find out how race shop's draw out blue prints for their chassis builds so I can get an idea on how to replicate that.

Yeah I was worried if you gave out the 3d model you would have problems retaining ownership. Selling cardboard tubes with the blueprints in them would be the best bet.(I wouldn't do any electronic files of the blueprints either as those could be redistributed as well.) The chassis would be interesting but I have seen them done. If I were you I would also put a faint repeating watermark on the printed blueprints. Is your model setup for Reverse Engine (V-drive) setup or a normal engine setup?

Those are good suggestions! Yes my set up is for reverse engine. Here you can see the 350 small block, and towards the nose you can see the V-drive with an 8 degree helical gear set up. (which is wrong, and will be remodeled as soon as the providing company sends me schematics of the correct V-drive)
I've not modeled the Transmission or drive shafts just yet.

Milner sent me the specs for the correct V-drive used in the movie Tumbler. so I modeled one up to their spec's and will be installing it into the model soon.

Thats way cool. Are you going to use a 9inch Ford rear axle or are you going custom? I'm going to try to use the ford rear end and then Re-inforce it like grant did on the top and bottom for the weight of the vehicle. One thing that is bugging me on my model is the panel with the gas caps...I'm wondering what size gas caps were used. I'm pretty sure those are "aircraft" style which isn't hard to find however i'm wondering if they used full size for cars, custom, or motorcyle size...

Also do you have the model of the V-Drive or part number for the movie tumbler I haven't been able to find it. I don't really need the dimensions so much as where to buy it.

Here are the matching gas caps that I found

Stevo, yes I do plan on using a 9" in my build, just as the original did. Reason being is Chevy axle shafts have a taper as the go from the tip, to the differential, whereas a Ford's axle stays the same length the entire time. It makes it much easier to cut and shorten if you wish to do so. Makes me wonder if they might have did so for the movie used Tumbler as well. Perhaps an inch or 2 off each side?

To answer Shaggy's question, I initially would be more interested in just parts of the plans....but in reality might end up using quite a bit of all the plans. So in the end, I would probably have wished that I had just purchased everything all at once anyways. From a builders point of view, I've learned the hard way that money spent on a reliable guide (set of plans) usually saves a ton of headache.
The will to act.
