Finished laying the fiberglass in the mold today. Seems like it took forever but it was only two weeks. Next will be to trim the edges and sand down any fiberglass "pokies" that might stick someone if the run their hand across it. Then it's time to begin separation. Hope to do that and at least separate the lower sections off by tomorrow. Will need to devise a way to flip the thing over after the lower sections of mold have been removed.

Removed the drivers rear air intake bottom section today. Mold came off OK.
This is one of the "upside down" sections so I was a little concerned on how it would come out because I had trouble getting the cloth to stick to the mold in this position. Overall I was pretty happy with it although there are some places that will require extra body work. And, of course, it hasn't been cleaned up yet. So keep that in mind.
Here's an image of the detail on the front of the intake.
It will be Thursday before I can continue. I think I have come up with a way to turn the body over to get to the top side.

Wow, that's amazing progress!!!
Man am I envious.
Food for thought...though I feel that I could learn a lot from you bud.
Core mat...I never use it. Like you say it just takes way too much material for it to function as designed. Most of the time a few extra layers of fiberglass matting is all that it takes and that's a fraction of the needed material.
The other thing I like to do is after I've released the mold and am about to lay my resin/fiberglass...I like to spray primer into the mold. That way when I demold it the fiberglass casting has a base prime layer on it already making it easier to see all defects, flaws and that sort of thing.
Can't wait to see your next steps!!!

Thanks for the comments Vert and David.
Yeah, I'm learning as I go, not an expert by any means. So your advice is quite welcome. I actually did consider spraying on the primer as you suggest. Probably should do it.

Took off the rest of the bottom mold today. Even had young Robin help (2.5 years old).
This is all the section that I tried to do upside down but had trouble getting the cloth to stick as the weight of the resin pulled it off. So I expected some problems here. Nothing that's not fixable.
Tomorrow I will clean up the sections and do some of the repair body work. Big thing I want to do is turn the body over. Then I can get the top of the mold off.

Goal for today was to remove the rest of the mold. To do that it needed to be turned over.
Can't believe that worked. Next start to remove the panels.
Lines came out great.
Continuing on with the rear sections removed and drivers side front cabin.
Now for the big front section. I thought this would be very difficult, and it wasn't easy, but with some tenacity it came off. Seeing the front of the car with the mold off was quite impressive. It came out very nice overall. These pictures just don't do it justice.
The color variation is because of the layer of coremat in the front.
Will do some clean up work and some body work now. It was actually not too heavy with the mold removed. Two people will have little trouble lifting it.

Thanks boss.
Spent about two hours today reinforcing the rear underside that was poorly done while upside down. Was much easier now that the car is turned over. I put the rear up on jack stands so i could get under the body to work. That put the body in about the correct angle it will have when the wheels are on.

Got this picture from THEMAN of my donor car on the frame rack ready for suspension work. Check out the nice rear tires in the picture.
