Have my donor car picked out. 2000 Vette with a rebuilt title.
I have to wait until February when I get some cash freed up. Then I'll make them an offer. These cars don't sell well in the winter so hopefully it will still be around and they will cut me a deal. Also have my eye on a couple of salvaged ones, but it would be nice to have a titled car.

Good plan... is that $13500 on the sticker? If so you can find way better deals on C5s with a clean title even at 8-10k tops, or less for salvage title. At $13500 I'd be targeting C6 with ls3 for the $14k range that I've seen.
I was initially concerned about clean title too, but being that I need and have a '92 titled donor car(vin & probably some metal contributions) for my street rod registration to be road legal with the extensive "mods" here, I can now go the salvage route and save a few grand.

Yes, 13,500. But I'm sure I can get it for 10. There are a couple of salvage title ones I'm looking at as well that I could pick up for 5 or 6. But they are flood damage and I'm don't think they run.

yeah, best to go with a running car... that way most of the electrical and motor stuff is a sound starting point, cutting down on real build time.

Got the flight stick in today. I thought it was pretty expensive but now I see why. Solid, heavy steel construction, this thing is awesome!
Next to the steering wheel...………
Gonna have to get some electronics guy to help me figure out how to have it actually work the gun turret. That would really be cool.

Mine arrived as well... I got the full set, as I wanted to try out flight simming anyway to go along with my Batchair in my Batlair.
As for hooking it up for the turret, I was thinking of possibly setting up a raspberry pi type thing to hook it into for the turret operation... and maybe to even fly an onboard drone to do cool overhead shots and recon.
I just ordered the headlights yesterday, got the 40 degree spread to give a similar coverage to standard automotive headlights. These things dropped to $65 per yesterday when I snagged them, but when I just checked today for the post info they were jacked up to 119, so might want to just watch them to see if they'll drop again...

won't be too hard to build your turret control wired instead of IR, and map the flight stick functions through a raspberry pi... just a simple example of how small a form factor we can make it.
The PIC18F4520 micro-controller is the brain of this project, which interprets the received IR signals from the TV remote and control the motion and the firing mechanism inside the gun. It is able to rotate upto 180° or more left and right, and the barrel can go up to 45°
