I was thinking keep it front engined as it sits low anyway and would be easy hidden with body. If you used a convertible the body has extra support and strengthening. Remove windscreen and pillers then thats were you getting in and out and were the doors are going. Cut of quarter panels and bang your half way there. Not sure about measurements of you body and the jag.

Yeah with the ride height I think it is certainly possible to have it as a front engine car.
That's a nice looking car even if you don't use it for a donor.

Did a little work on the front suspension mockup today. Here's a picture of the basic suspension.
And a pic with the covering on.
This suspension is not modified in size beyond the 10% reduction that I am doing for the whole car. I want to see what it will look like this way before I think about making it shorter to fit in the 8' 6" limit.
Still need to add the steering linkage. Will make that out of pvc pipe. From here I will add some proxy tires and the tire cover/fender. Tire fender is going to be tricky to make.

Alright, I've been working on the front wheel cover fenders. I'd like to hear some thoughts about these. First of all, here are a couple of pictures of what I've done. The side that connects to the car is not done yet.
The size of these has not been altered other than the 10% reduction I'm doing through out. But I also adjusted the angle of the top part for a 32 inch wheel height. Original wheel height would be 35 1/2 inches. It would be very easy to re adjust the angle for the taller wheel.
As is, the wheel width would be 15 inches wide!! I was thinking 12.5 would be OK. To make it narrower I would need to cut part of the front panel off. Not too hard at this point.
There is a Thompson Super Swamper wheel that is 32x12.5. If I went bigger I would probably need to go to a military or agricultural wheel.)The actual wheels are agricultural wheels)
I need to get these on the car to see what they look like. Any thoughts on the direction I should go with the size? Ideally I would like to match the rear wheels only bigger. That might be a trick.

Have you looked at any of the Super-single tires, those designed to replace dual tires on semi-trucks? vertigo

Never heard of them. I'll check it out.
Today I put the other side on these and removed the outside bar. I'm going to make the outside bar not come out as far so that will reduce the width quite a bit. Hope to have this done and on the car by the weekend.
