Last update for a while. I will be gone for two months. But hopefully I will be able to work on the guns and keep you posted on that progress.

I installed the proxy wheels and the front side bracket.

Batmobile

I made this a 32" wheel..... although a 36" wheel looks like it would fit fine and that would be the correct size. I thought I would need a 32" wheel to go under the body wheel flares but the wheel fenders clear the wheel flares so a full size tire will work fine.

Batmobile

This wheel is 9" wide. I think this could be wider when the actual hub assembly is installed, but with this "mock" hub assembly this is the width it needed to be. These wheels actually spin.

Batmobile

I raised the height of the front of the car to match the wheel height. It really gives the car a more aggressive and intimidating look. Hard to see in pictures.

Batmobile

The rear will be raised dramatically as well when the rear tires are installed. add the rear areo wings and it's going to look bad azz.

(note: I notice there is a wolverine emoticon, Spider-Man, superman.... but no Batman emoticon...... ummmm... )

"That looks great. Really makes me want to get to work on my project for real and not just a mockup." sly

hey sly,
Every piece of wood you shape to size is working on your DOJ build.
Every piece a wood pattern.
Just think how fast your physical build will go once your mockup is complete.
A complete set of patterns.

By the way, your build has really taken shape. I agree with your description: "aggressive and intimidating"

The raised intimidating look is very noticeable actually!! That's so darn cool.

Camping in the mountains of Oahu this week. I hate it, but my wife loves it, so here we are.

Hi Sly sorry to see your having such a terrible ordeal and having to suffer hawaii and its lovely weather lol

Great to see progress and as Vertigo said every bit you do in wood plastic or other is building you a plan or set of instuctions which will allow you to fly through a real build. If i had have planned my build before i started then i wouldnt have had to repeat or change things.

Hit a little bump in the road here. It's been really busy but I had some time yesterday to get started on the guns. Opened up my laptop and the 3dCAD file I had on here has been deleted by my wife.

Oh well, I had put the parts of the model in a baggie and packed it with my luggage. Looked for that only to find out my wife didn't know what it was an took it out of my bag before we left.

So now I can't work on the guns as planned.

hey sly,
Feel your pain. That's why I carry my files on a flash drive with a second one as a back up.
July is here so you're half way back to your build. vertigo

“I do like the DOJ but it hasn't been used enough on screen. It was a
highlight of the DOJ film but just not nearly enough screen time. Hope
that changes in future movies, especially the Batman standalone
movie.” Sly

“I feel the same way. I too was very disappointed with the lack of
DOJ Batmobile screen time and with what little it had being wasted on
a bunch of very short cut jerky shot sequences
