Hope it comes out soon. But my cash reserves are a little low right now anyway.

When I bought two 1/6 Hot Toys Batman Tumblers back in 2014 they sold for 499.99 each.
I probably won't buy the Hot Toys DOJ since it is expected to go for 1000-1500.oo.
I would rather spend that kind of money on the real build.
The benefit of building the 1:1 mockup is not having to spend a lot of money on the first two build years.
I figure getting to a completed 1:1 mockup is about 60% of the physical build hours. I put in about an hour a day on the non-physical building aspects of my planned DOJ. Your build seems to be progressing steadily and has become quite impressive. How much do you think you have spent on all aspects of your build so far?

Thank you for your kind words. I have actually spent a lot of time working on this, but I haven't kept a specific log unfortunately. When I work on it I am generally putting in 3 to 4 hours at a time. But there have been days I've been able to spend 8 hours on it. I started the physical build last March with some failed attempts to do a model in foam. Then I shifted to trying to figure out the frame work with plastic pipe. And now my model in wood.

As far as researching goes it would be hard to quantify. It is always there.

Hopefully I'll have another update this weekend. I've been doing some good things to the front. Well, good in my opinion anyway.

Progress Report:

Have been pretty busy again so time has been limited but here is what I've been up to.

1. added the pipe that attaches the weight/splitters to the front.
2. Fabricated the weight/splitters and attached them to the pipe.
3. added lower reinforcing skin to front wheel flares.
4. added divider to hood scoop.
5. put a rough layer of bondo on front section.

Batmobile

still need to sand down the bondo and add a second layer. Need to cap off openings in wheel flares. Not sure if you can see much, but here is a picture.

Here is a close up of the front work.

Edit: Oh, I forgot. In the first pic you can see the defensive arrays laid about where they go. They are not done yet, but I couldn't resist setting them on there.

Looking very nice.
I really like the idea of using Bondo to coat the wood.

Yeah, We've been having a ton of rain here and my storage area is not the best so trying to help make it a bit more water resistant.

Working on a mockup of the front suspension now. Even at my current 10% reduction in size, the width of the front suspension is a little more than 10 feet. I'm going to see how much that can be modified. I would like to remove a foot on each side but don't want to destroy the esthetic.

I have been looking at the old jaguar xj convertible as a donar car comes with a 4.lt engine and auto box. Keep plugging away mate i have found you should have a fun day every so often to keep the momentum up. I was getting buried in the bodywork so i left it for a day and wired lights and afterburner up tinted front glass etc. You will be surprised the lift and refreshment you will get from doing easy but multiple jobs. It will actually speed you up try it and see.

Would you try to keep that front engine or would you try to move it to the back some how?
