When i got home and put it on i could already see i was going to have the same problem. here's a pic of the first belt installed...it's WIDE. the new longer belt is the same width. yes it's longer and there's more slack, but the Comet clutch still catches it enough to spin. I needed a thinner belt and the shop didn't have one. so using the new longer belt, i decided to make one.

Here's the new thinner belt installed. better almost like it's falling off. you could see how much thinner it is…i think this might pose a problem with the driven wheel cause i'm used to seeing them with fatter belts. i guess i would have to get a bigger clutch to use a fatter belt…but we'll see….anyway bigger than all that...

Wow. That looks really nice. I like seeing it when you pull in. You know its not a "regular" kart with those outrigger front wheels.

well I'm at lunch now....so Thanks to all. The biggest thanks goes to the creators of this site. Everytime i reach a fabricating milestone i can't help but think of CLTC. Yeah Dave "saftey first!"...haha...even tho i was doing 5 mph down the block...a car did kinda startled me as it drove around me...which reminded me to get some mirrors! Reverse is all Shaagy's fault. i distinctly remember you being the one to suggest the golf cart rear. for something like this i wouldn't use anything else. you had to see the 3 point U-turn i did on my block. having reverse on a vehicle with a poor turning radius to begin with certainly helps. the next video will hopefully be this weekend as the next logical step is to fully test this in a safe controlled environment....preferably dirt terrain. thanks again...i need to test drive this thing for real. I have a feeling afterwards, i'll be taking the Govenor off for more RPMS!!!
