At first I coat the foam with epoxy fiberglass resin so the foam was protected. Then I was using body filler putty to shape the part, but the putty was very difficult to sand. Then I switched to dry wall compound and that is much easier to sand but takes a long time to dry.

hey sly,
What kind of spray adhesive did you use when you made up foam laminations for routing?

Hey everybody! Almost time for my return to civilization so I have begun to think about getting the Justicemobile project going again. The four side box molds are made but will need some prep work before producing the parts with them. I will produce two sets of four boxes this summer, one set for me and one for THEMAN's build. Then, I will also produce another main body section for THEMAN. That's a LOT of fiberglass work to look forward to this summer. After the parts are produced, I plan to try and pack everything up, parts and molds, and take it to THEMAN's shop out east.

hey sly,
Sounds like a plan. Will be looking forward to seeing your progress, as will many others, who are following your build. Vision, drive, and ambition expressed in action to build a batmobile. Satisfaction doesn't get much better than that. vertigo

Did you ever identify the main multi-button screen in the cockpit or any other cockpit assemblies? vertigo

Nope. Can't find it anywhere.
On another note. There is a comicon coming up in my area and I wish I had the DOJ mobile ready for it. I do have the molds for the main body and side boxes though. I wonder if that would make an interesting display? I may put them together, take a picture, and send it to them to see if they would be interested.

Once you and THEMAN finish your builds I believe you will have more invitations to shows than you can handle.
Speaking of THEMAN, how is the mechanical portion of the builds progressing? vertigo

Last time I talked to him he was getting his Ghostbuster cars ready for the opening of that movie. Haven't checked in with him lately.

Sorry I haven't been able to post much these days, real life has been very hectic lately. But I did get some minor work done today.
Rough sanded the panels for the Passenger side rear box mold. Next steps will be to repair any problems, hand sand, and polish. Then the mold will be ready.
Looking at it and working with it today I don't think the bottom part that I was concerned about will be a problem on these bigger rear boxes. Don't know about the smaller front ones yet.
Here's a look at that mold loosely bolted together.
