Ok, so i was keeping this a secret, and didnt want to show the board until i had a substantial amount done, but temptation got the better of me, and i wanted to share.

Now that we have our first child, my wife says he needs a batmobile of his own, so i suggested the Tumbler, she said thats fine, but she wants it go-cart sized, so i thought over it, and decided to do it.

First things first, i wasnt pleased with the blueprints for the tumbler, they seem very off.  So i decided to draw up my own orthographs from the actual car, and upload those into SketchUp, draw the Tumbler again, only correct this time, as best i could.

Then upload them into sketchUp

Scale them to the measurements of the original car, then build the car from the drawings, starting with the cabin (gathered fromt the special edition disc of Batman begins)

Then just keep adding panels, the tires i did not build, only the wheels for the front tires are my doings.   I swiped those off of the internet.  I havent mastered tire building yet

At this stage the cars body panels are about 90% done.  I then took the entire car, and scaled it down to 1/6 scale, then usuing the measuring tape, measured each panel individually.   Then created a flat image in CorelDraw that i could cut it out of card stock paper.   The cool thing is i can grab the car and drag it into whatever size necessary and it will give me measurements on all scale sizes.

then i can create a replicated side for each set of panels

And thats all i have pictures of so far, i have printed out the vast majority of the panels, painted them black, and bent them into the form of a tumbler, i took pictures, i just dont have them developed yet.  I will post them as soon as i can.   When i get thru with the 1/6 scale, i will begin work on the 1/2 scale Go-cart.

OH, and when i'm done with the 3d model i plan on building the roll cage to match, and make the body see thru.

Thanks guys!  I've put alot of hard work into this one.  The cabin has changed a bit since i posted pictures of it.   But it still retains a Tumbler.   I hope to be working more on it today if Budweiser will spare me the time. .

Gotta go!  Thanks again
