Urethane skinned / foam filled seat bolted on. Another mold added to my collection.

Totally awesome bud. It looks great! How about the function? Is it rigid yet soft enough to work? Nicely done on the mold.

The attachment is very solid and wood encased in foam and urethane worked really well.  I used a shore 42 urethane for the entire seat, but parhaps a few too many cups as the seat is pretty solid.  I might at some point in the future make another for a softer more comfortable ride.  Perhaps use the shore 42 urethane for the bottom part of the seat and softer urethane for the top.

Also, might adjust the angle of the seat.  It's a little too parallel to the ground.

Also could remove the 10mm of wood and replace with 4mm steel to give and extra 6 mm of padding.

Altered the seat angle... Makes it more comfortable.

Hey Spidey looking good! I cant wait for the "test" of it. One measurement I was curious about if you don't mind sharing. What is the ground clearance from the bottom of the frame (engine cradle) to the ground? Did you start with that and then the angle of the front and back tubes just came out to what they are? or did you have some kind of gauge for those angles prior to the build?

It's not actually something I thought about. I estimated the length of the bike and angle of the front fork. The clearance of the bike was a result of that. Also looked at the distance the seat was from the ground to gauge if it was going to work. Everything is really just a big guess. But looking at my CAD drawing the result is about 45cm clearance.

Ok great thanks! I figured alot of a build like this would be somewhat trial and error given the fact that theres probably a number of variations each build will have but ultimately have the overall look. (hopefully) Ive been fortunate that between Shaggy's drawings and my vinyl graphics business, I converted most all parts of the frame into a scaled vinyl decal which I can use as a template. I'm assuming once put together, things will "sort of" fall into place as far as the angles go etc, but its definitely nice to have a comparison/reference point.
