Nice looking chart

I just finished assembling my fully built EJ257 for my subaru.. I need to go to a speed density tune in the spring. The bigger turbo is out running my MAF setup. Right now the car is hitting 340whp but power drops off the table at 4500rpm. The car bogs down, pulls timing because the MAF thinks it's maxed out.

I'll be doing a bunch of polishing of the aluminum and stainless pieces in the spring and doing some final tidying up of the engine bay. With the speed density setup, I'll likely run the air filter right off the compressor housing

thanks
i spent a lot of time trying to get as much response out of the 2.6l
the big thing was the cams and head work, i think the best thing about it was when my tuner gave it back to me he said if i was building an all round car that's the setup id want.

the ej looks nice i did a fair bit of for a friend who had my99 wrx ended up wiring in a z32 AFM but even with your power it will max that out might be time to MAP setup.

so i was able to get out to a motorkhana event

not the best event to test a gtr on but none the less a nice low stress just to give the car a shake down

lots of interest in the car

getting ready to start the day

Batmobile

staging
Batmobile

power under steer all day long
Batmobile

Batmobile

Batmobile

and then it happened
Batmobile

decided to spill its coolant in the staging line. power fc got up 96 degrees C and defi gauge from the bottom rad was showing 102 degress C

leak is coming from under the plenum somewhere. once it cooled down it took about 2l of water and the leak had turned into a drip.

decided to trailer it home to be safe

looks like the plenum will have to come off unless i can find the leak on the hoist

since blowing the water hose under the plenum at motorkhana
this water hose has caused some major headaches for me mainly from this Batmobile

tomei metal gaskets and all new water hoses from nissan
Batmobile

getting the car up on the hoist to check to the leak
Batmobile

Batmobile

hook up the pressure tester
Batmobile

no luck finding it, so time to pull the plenum off. *insert swearing of your choice as it was all covered*

several hours later its off
Batmobile

again hook up the pressure tester

and there she is
Batmobile

replace the hose and while the plenum is off start on the replacement water hose for around the head

Batmobile

Batmobile

re fill rad and pressure test it

Batmobile

held pressure for an hour so time to reassemble

Batmobile

Batmobile

while i had it on the hoist i fitted the correct no colour coded lower lip and ARC wings
Batmobile

Batmobile

time to test
we have a hiss *more swearing*

take plenum off round 2
replace plenum
hiss remains Batmobile
test with carbie cleaner hiss goes idle still low

replace plenum round 3
this time new gaskets, and intake runner gaskets, idle control valve, new o rings for balance pipe

find carbie cleaner outside of o rings in balance pipe

refit his is gone, but idle still crap
aac adjustment makes no difference. *more swearing*

after a long chat with the tuner we put it down to the aac being clogged
so i remove it to give it a clean and you would believe what i found ween trying to put carby cleaner down the air hose

Batmobile

Batmobile

oh yes a lead sinker jammed in there
Batmobile

replace hose and idle is finally adjustable

on the rollers for a once over

Batmobile

engine is a bit more free reving and pulled 349rwkw on the first two power runs. but was leaning out a little.
bit of a clean up in tune and it ran exactly the same power run of 333.4rwkw as when it was first tuned
