Thanks newbie, after an appointment I spent the rest of the day trying to get my chassis tubing together. It went from concept to a material list in juat a couple days. Some stuff I had to relearn were the terms used in fabrication materials. You basically have pipe, tubing and DOM tubing. Pipe is usually thin walled and is usually not used in chassis fabrication. Round tubing verses say square tubing comes in more varied wall thicknesses. I will be using 1/4 thick wall of the round tubing. Also my chassis tubing is known as DOM meaning there is no seams. The tubing gets larger as it goes fron the axles to the engine. Spent some time watching some guys cutting with a torch and a bandsaw. Made a little video about it....BWD

Hey Jimmy hope you can see it now. Damn youtube. Just got to be a little patience. Got the rest of my tubing for the rear of the bike and took all the front end pieces to the machine shop. This is going to be epic. Lol The tubing is so fricken big. Its either going to be cool or a big mistake. Lol. Got a battery for the quad and it started right up so at least thats cool. Not sure where my build is in terms of priority but at least these guys that are going to help me are off the hook in terms of skill I have a video I made of the project the welder is working on now. I'll put it together later its a massive gear box where they lay down 6 welds. Didn't even know they did that. Thanks for looking BWD

Hey podchoppar, you guessed it. Plus I have a couple surprises. I'm talking to the owner of the machine shop about some of my crazy ideas. We'll see how it works in terms of feasibility and cost. got a good deal on the steel by dropping by 4  different suppliers. The cost between the suppliers was pretty dramatic.Found that the welding shops had the best price but had to look through their cut pieces. Still got to get some rectangular tubing for the side rails. Here's a shot of the gas tank I've been working on for a while. It was laid out in styrafoam 1 inch sections then bondo for the shape. Hope to pull a mold off of it then make a shell within the mold. the arm guards are made the same way.

The tank is made in one piece and then will be cut by the band for that space between the tank sections. Its made to scale but has an extra shock housing. Not sure with the massiveness of the bike if it will be proportional but we have ways to increase the size. The rubber pieces will go on the tank for the laydown position needed for riding.BWD

Hey Baneful, I am kinda torn between two ideas. Both ideas are for the military one is controversial and the other is for a good cause. The controversial idea might be interpreted the wrong way and would be risky and appeal to just a small group of people. It may not be embraced. The second idea appeals to a small but important group and has a good message if the vehicle was in a particular location. I am getting a letter together that would be sent along with photos and the response would determine which way I would go with it. It fits into my long term plan of where I want to be in five years. If the letter is received well and I get a good response it could be very good for my long term goals.

I've already noticed that the message has to be simple and misinformation is just a part of this. Its like the news stations just make things up that sound good for their program. For instance when I was interviewed for channel 31 in Sacramento they said the Crimefighter was on a Corvette and I was collecting money for a good cause. I had to let several people know that I don't take any donations or sponsorship. I display the vehicles for free and tell them to donate directly to legitimate charities. Oh yeah I stopped taking the vehicles to schedule charities because I ended up getting too many request and I was spending a lot of time telling people with great charities I couldn't make it. One Saturday I got 5 charity request on one day. It became too stressful telling people I couldn't go to their event...BWD
