Ya, it is Bob's torso, its foam, I used a urethane cowl made by a young guy named Forrest his handle is Revolution.. i think....
My foam begins cowl is kinda the holy grail of my costuming stuff. I don't ever wear it.

it has a Suzuki 650 in it.
the gear box needs to be adjusted because it is all low end. (for sand?)
it'll do 50-60, but if it were geared right it could go a lot faster.
do you think it"ll be enough? any thoughts?

Well your sandrail looks bigger than my go-kart. My go-kart with out the body does 45 mph, with it on does about 40 mph. I used 22 gauge steel for the body but I could have used 20 gauge. For what I am doing, its fine. The motor is only a 150. I have a Suzuki 450 quad and she screams, so I think with 650 you should have plenty of power!

Just took a few seconds and stretched out the model. your build might look similar to this if you are interested.

Shag, that looks great! i can see the seats through the window!
I think I could live with that
it would probably help with visibility to be stretched up a little.
I got the actual wheel size.
the tires are 24x8-12 in front
and 24x10-12 in back
it says in the side of them that they are not for highway use
I think it has a 4 bolt pattern.

So I went to discount tire today, and while I was there, I asked about tires and rims for the tumbler.
He said there are a lot more options if I go up to a 14 inch wheel.
Apparently, Toyota had some dually trailer rims that would be easy to get and be highway rated with great tread.
How do you convert wheel size? Is it really a possibility and is it worth it?
Again I've got a lot of enthusiasm very little know-how...
by the way... where do i start

Hey Tripleasq,  I wanted to give you a couple suggestions if I might. The original Tumbler has TSL Super swampers that are 44 Inches tall. That is the reference I used to size the Rumbler. Your buggy is smaller than the original Tumbler so you have to figure out the ratios  between the original and your buggie. The most common useful measurement between the two would be the wheelbase. So determine the Tumbler's wheelbase and your buggie which would be the measurement from the center of the rear axle and the middle of the front axle. Let's say the wheelbase on the Tumbler is 15 feet and your buggy is 10 feet then the scale of your buggy would be 66% or 2/3 of the original. knowing this ratio will greatly help in determining how to size the rest of the vehicles. That ratio would make the rear tire 30 inches tall.

Two concerns with your build is the width of the rear of your buggie and trying to incorporate an axleless front end. Having the engine between the wheels will make your build much wider than the original. Its not the end of the world just a modified Tumbler. Also the trailing arm may get in the way of the inside dually.

Hopefully you will keep the front end of your buggy with the upper and lower control arms rather that try to modify it to an axleless front end.

Yeah the 14 inch wheels will give you a more options in tires. You may have to make some adapters to adapt to the 14 inch wheels. The original Tumbler has 16 inch rims that are 12 1/2 wide...BWD

Hey Tripleasq, I forgot what the original length of the Tumbler's wheelbase . We will have to ask Shaggy. I haven't been able to get a hold of him on IM in a while. But you got the right idea. I guess what I am tring to get across is how you calculate the ratios. I'm not advocating stretching or shortening the chassis. That's where you can get into major bucks and engineering. If you want to e-mail me I could share some info....BWD
