Hello everyone, I will be building a 1989 Batmobile replica starting this December. I have ordered a body from Gotham Cruisers and it is scheduled to be done at the end of November. I will be using a 1989 C4 Corvette as the donor car (just a coincidence on the years). I have been looking to do a turbo shaft engine to drive the wheels, but due to numerous reasons, I will be powering the wheels with a normal reciprocating engine. I intend to to use a turbojet engine in the rear. Looking at modifying a GE T58 or Rolls Royce Gnome to be a thrust engine. I'm planning on doing the Oxy Propane guns as well. One question though. Has anyone figured out a good way to make a canopy actuator work with a remote? Just thought I'd put this out there. I'm looking forward to kicking ass on the car build. This project will be the priority. Normally I restore vintage race cars and am looking forward to this build. I will keep you updated as this car will be finished in 2010. Casey in Ohio

Congrats Casey. I think everyone here is looking forward to seeing a new success story. I know I am. Sounds like you have a good plan and I wish you good luck on this.

Good luck with the build. Where in Ohio are you? I'm in the Dayton area if you need some help wrenching on it!

Hey guys, My build will be done in about one month. The car is drivable and all sytems are working well. I will be using the car to tow my formula atlantic race car and racing motorcyle this year as well. It has an automatic remote operated canopy, Retractable and firing machine guns PA system Freight train air horn On board 110 A/C Air ride suspension and fittings for air tools at races. DVD, CD, IPOD, and USB The car drove perfectly. The chassis I built has fantastic torsional rigidity and handles well. I have road racing compound brake pads on it too. I intend to take the car to a track day at Mid-Ohio just to freak people out. Naturally, I will be driving it a lot. Here is a link to a video of the machine guns firing and retracting. Casey

Just got done building the trailer hitch on my 89 Batmobile. The hitch comes out of the exhaust cone. You dont see the reciever really. The ball ends up being just outside of the cone. I intend to pull my Formula Atlantic race car and Road race motorcyles with the car this year. Also, I have prepared my Batmobile to be track worthy. I intend to take it to a track day at Mid-Ohio perhaps in may. I will take video. The car should be done this month.
