Hey T-man, i use to be the same way, but i gotta tell you, this roll-on paint job that im doing is great for that sort of thing. It lets you quickly fix a problem (say a bug decides to commit suicide) you simply pull the bug out and roll back over the paint. And since its thinned to the consistancy of milk and rolled on....drool lines and lumps are not a problem at all. Maybe you should paint up your Tumbler go-cart that way to see what im talking about.

I installed the remaining push rods, installed the harmonic balancer, as well as both valve covers.
I didnt take pictures bc it really didnt look that much different. I ran out of satin black spray paint so now im having to paint with gloss paint. I figured what the hey, i'll just painted it now so it doesnt rust, and in the later months i'll pull it off one weekend, clean and paint it the way i want it.
This weekend i will be going to pull a part to get EFI sensors, starter, alternator, and a few odds and ends, and if i play my cards right, i might have myself a running car by the end of the month, with brakes.
Then that just leaves windshield and paint job!
Anyway, just updating.

So im in large amounts of pain today from dead lifting a (i assume the weight) 150 pound TH350 transmission into the bowels of my Camaro. Here is a picture of it i took with my phone after i degreased. And no its not THAT shiny, my phone just made it look somewhat polished. the phone lies! Please forgive the pile of trash behind it, its things we've sorted thru and are hauling off for scrap, etc.
Here it is installed, with cooler lines attached. Overlook the dirtiness of the pan for now, its only where i was dragging it across the ground, i will be pulling it off, cleaning it, and installing a new filter while i'm in there.
Also you may notice there is alot of bare paint under there, well i haven't coated those areas bc i havent repaired the floor boards just yet. That will be coming soon.
I also installed headers, but left the passenger side one loose so installing the starter will be easier later on.
Just a cheap set of Flowtech Headers that i had laying around.
I also got some belt-related accessories installed, im gonna attempt to install the new'ish alternator on the old brackets here in a few days, might have to do some shimming.
And i got some new hinges, these actuate more properly, tho a bit stiff, hoping that will work out after a while, they are off a mid 70's firebird, they appeared the same as what i have, so i snatched them.
Thats all i have for now, hopefully will have more soon if weather allows.

Got a bit more done this past weekend. Weather is starting to get hotter and hotter, thank goodness for shade from the tree's.
I got my dust pan degreased and painted, as well as the starter installed, so now i can put the pan on.
I also put the new(er) style alternator on the old school brackets, i'll be changing the pully to V-belt here in a few days.
I positioned this handy little bracket on this side of engine compartment to hold the part of the wire harness that "unplugs" ...why it unplugs i have no idea.
A cool upgrand i thought was the windshield wiper motor, not only does it hug the firewall really well, but it gives me delayed wipers! Su-weet! It is off of an '89 GMC pick up. You may also notice the spark advance sensor mounted on the firewall as well to the passenger side of the engine.
Im considering this place for my fuel pump canister, its the same place as i ran it on my 4x4 and it gave me no trouble, and never once leaked.
I also started on the interior as well. I took the warped, rotted dash and put it in place, and strapped it hard to keep it from moving.
Then foamed the top side and cut it down smooth, i will fiberglass bondo, smooth and paint later.
And i got the seats in, the driver is bolted down solid, the passenger is awaiting to be bolted in this picture.
I hope to have more done soon, maybe within a week or two i'll FINALLY fire the engine off. its been assembled for half a year and i STILL have not heard it run yet. Its killing me!!!
