Today I am ordering 4" axle hubs that will be used for the arms. Still trying to figure out the exact mounting method...I figure, get all the parts, stare at everything for a few minuets, get a headache, then get help from my friends at CLTC. Uh, Shaggy? Dave? here's your cue HaHa...but seriously these guys have helped out big time already, and others here have helped me as well. I can honestly say without this site, It would be very hard to do all of this, and it would take much longer. The site keeps proving to me time and time again how valuble it is if you want to build the car of your dreams (isn't everyones dream car a Batmobile?) So I should be getting those steel hubs and axle rods tomorrow. here's what one hub looks like Tonight I will be grinding and smoothing out the mounting points for the plates. Can't mount, or weld them them until I get the hubs. I'll need to measure the center hole in the hub and bolt holes to mount on the plate. Then take it back to the shop for drilling.

Wow, as much as I am interested in building an 89' car, I'm also fascinated by anyone taking on the amazing task of building a Tumbler car. This is fun build to watch.

Conrad, you might try using a set of hubs off of the back of a front wheel drive car. You won't need an axle shaft and could just bolt them on a bracket adn then use a kingpin type setup behind it for steering. (just an idea if you are on a budget like me

I'm using small trailer hubs. My wife surprised me today. She just started at PetSmart as a lead Groomer. she brought back something for my little guy.

only a computer guy would have cd's on the garage floor If your going to do much more cutting you may want to pick up an abrasive cut off saw. Here is how the front spindle/knuckle is on my go-cart. It came with the C bracket thats welded to the frame. Something like this may work for you, and it's nice and simple.

Hey bean...thanks...funny...I was looking at my Manco kart today....same deal. I'm actually going to try and use the quad's front wheel hubs/spindle. if that doesn't work...i will indeed go simple.
and CD's make great circle templates!

So here's what i was talking about. I will reverse these guys and figure a way to mount. I have a couple of ideas. I now know what it means to truly fabricate. if something doesn't exist, make it - but make it work. here are the wheels from the '95 Blaster. I don't know if i'll use these in the end. the arms will have to be straight (as opposed to slightly bent in) in order to fit both wheels and have clearance when the wheels are turned.
