man i love seeing replies from the Rumbler creator himself. thanks dave! you're Mr. 100! as in 100 percent correct about The Storm! haha....but whoa.....hold up here...NO JUMPS ON THE FIRST TEST DAY...are you nuts? yeah maybe in the indestructable Rumbler but noooo sir, not in my ride. First off...the front shocks are kinda old? i only say/ask that because when engaged they go pretty low. i'm sure a jump would cause a major "bottom out" event. No i just want to ride long range, try some turns, braking and go as fast as this thing can go with it's current RPM maximum - meaning with the GX390 governor enabled. and then go back to the lab and review my results, check for anything loose, broken, etc. When i get new front shocks - an inch longer to provide more lift - I'll start little jumps! Oh yean and i should be getting this today or tomorrow.

Hi Conrad, it as been awhile. I finally checked out the end of your thread, awesome videos and a trailer? I just never knew you lived in New York. I just wanted to say besides being a friend and part of CLTC that, I think its pretty neat talking to you cross the states like this for Ca. to NY.

Thanks guys....i keep looking at Youngbat and Dave and saying to myself, Damn...I'm a rookie. Still kinda feel that way but once I figure out how to change the title I might change it up.. Now big news. - As i may have mentioned ATV's of any kind are prohibited to be on state roads in NY. There are only 2 places on Long Island that allows it because they're private property and the owners charge people annual fees to ride. As you might have guessed they're pretty popular among the motorcross heads out here. anyway my nieghbor is a member and asked the owner if I could test my vehicle there. he said YES! I just have to sign stuff and i'm good. he's going this weekend and offered to take me in his NEW ENCLOSED TRAILER!!! YESSSSS!!!! so here's the place....not exact but its about 10-15 acres. the sandy/dirt/green looking area in the middle of this sat pic. you could see the trails and tracks for the dirtbikes and quads....which i won't be on. I will be looking for a spot thats flat and open. This Saturday baby!

so I went to that spot today and finally got to test rive this thing. First...I'll be taking the engine off and REMOVING the govenor. i think i did 15-20mph tops. removing the govenor on those engines should get me close to 5000 rpms compared to the 3500 stock I'm getting now. my good friend came by and loaded me up...buried behind the quads..

i had the pleasure of enjoying the first day of spring outside driving what I've been building for the past 2 years. I can't imagine how long it will take to make one like Grant did. Even so...i know it will come. for now I have my primitive model that needs steering help. But surprisingly, for such a small amount of room to turn, it responded pretty good out there today. things i learned today: - The engine will definitely have to go and something bigger will be installed. - The steering linkage needs to be replaced and tightened. there's a little play in the R&P steering assembly. - The front brake cables need to be longer and rerouted - the Hoosiers were catching the cables when they were turned to their maximum. - The rear brakes are not "locking up" when i slam the pedal - I'm not sure if they just need to be adjusted, upgraded or what...it IS a used golf cart axle... So it's amazing to know that all i needed was to take this thing out to learn all this. Part of the process. Hope to have all the above done by end of summer..but we all know how plans go..
