When you say "accurate", do you mean with wider fenders as well? Or just accurate as far as the replicas go?

Well, I do not know we will ever be TRULY accurate on any of the kits... The fenders will be narrower, because I suggested to him that to even have the CHANCE of being street legal, he we could not make the fenders wide again.
As for measurements, Doug is going off of Dan's car, and Jack's car. Plus we made a list of things that needed to be fixed (such as the dip in the top of the scoop).

Street legal? pssshhh. It wouldn't be wider than those huge duelies on the road would it? If I were him, I think I would want to just make two sets of molds while I was at it. But the work he's doing is really great regardless.

Hopefully soon. Doug has been so focused on the '66 full build, and moving shops after a tiff with the landlord, that he hasn't done much to the '89. I have been urging him to get it knocked out asap, considering there are alot of people waiting for a SMOOTH, less flawed kit... Kevin might actually beat him to it!

Couple quick pics - Doug is working on re-peaking the fenders and is starting to do cleanup duty on the body. He told me that he wants to have the '89 DONE by end February, and the first kit pulled in March. I hope he succeeds - we need more '89 kit makers out there to bump up the overall quality.

Hey Justin or Nitro or other CLTC members, how would one go about making the 89 wider. I can see the rear fenders being widen by adding 6" of material down the middle of the trunk and roof area. I guess the other area to add would be the gutter between the fender and the round turbine housing. The reason being is the turbine housing down the middle of the body ends up being the round turbine inlet. Which needs to stay round. The fenders seem like they cannot be increased because they turn into an nice curved front end. So it seems to me that adding say 3" to both sides at the fender gutters and 6' to the roofline and trunk area would give the car a substantially wider look. Any comments or suggestions on better way to widen the beast? BWD
