Yeah a small piece is missing. Probably over tightened the screw.

Thanks for the great photos, never saw all those screw holes for the vents before, some helpfull details. But these shots also just make me less interested in having an accurate dash, because they did such a slpa dash job at it. Buttons that don't make any sense or twenty of the same things, this is classic 50's space set stuff "Let's put cool looking buttons all over the place, break that off and hot glue it over there!!!" From a props point of view they did the right thing, it wasn't going to be seen, so if it is for a second or two, havesomething there that looks cool and gagety. But for a car to be stared at, I can't reproduce broken panels and stuff that doesn't do anything, or random buttons that just fill a space. I can find cooler buttons or nicer panels than they found easily on ebay from actual aircraft, or make something that actually lights up and works. It was hard for me being Mr. Detail on the 66 to make this transition, but I am not sweating details to make a great reproduction of sloppy fast prop guys in England! I am planning to make some progress mid Feb. so I should have some more photos, but this build is in LOOOOOW gear now. THank your dad for the great photos, and Justin let's get these two cars rolling! Nate

Justin, I really interested in the interior photos on this thread. Is this a 92 returns car? The dash although close does not match up with the 89 #1 car. Any insight you have on these photos would help. I am in the process of doing my dash. Thanks!!!

Acurate dash or functional ? Pretty important question there. I suppose it depends on wether ya wanna go with 'screen accurate' or not. I think the point is do ya wanna do it right, or capture the flavour (sounding like a cookery show?). I myself have never thought of doing an accurate dash & cockpit. I could never afford it for one, and I'd never do as good a job as some of the forum guru's would/did. I want a rear drive camera/mirror and I wanna play dvd/mp3/etc. Can I have air conditioning ? What about a back seat ? Racing harness ? Electric start button or hidden switch ? Different seats ? Air bags ? ETC What do you want to do with it when yer finished ? That determins what you do with the inside.

I can assure you my dash will not be screen acurate. Close, but as you say more in the flavor of the original. I do find the dash photos with the tube lighting interesting and was wondering which car it is.

BTW
Can someone write howto on posting pics the easy way?
I can see that others are posting them differently than I am. (I assume that it's easier)
