youngbat, always enjoyable looking at your masterpiece....... .........pics of it open/drivetrain would be cool (nudge, nudge).... Feel you on the 'lost balance'......i ended up putting a 3x3 whole in the ceiling of the garage.....blamed it on a spider....but just got tired and slipped on my @ss, lucky I didnt get the almighty wishbone to the jewels, was quick enough and prevented that.....too bad the drywall and car underneath didnt share the same protection...... BWD, i know god gave you alot of fingers....but you will eventually need all of them, maybe not at the same time, but you will..........but not after losing some either! thats the word on the street anyway, Ron

Ya, we all gotta be REAL careful. you can get nailed sometimes no matter how careful you are. all these power tools, welders, drill presses, are all lethal weapons. I haven't been in the garage much, because we have experiencing an unbelievable amount of cold, and snow. even with a heater, can't stand to stand in the garage for more than 10 - 15 min. Just before xmas, a friend brought friends over to see it, and we all stood there and froze to death. I did replace the upper window on the passenger side, so now all 6 pieces of glass are in place with nice adjustable mechanisms on the inside. Am planning driving it this spring. I have a friend in my band, who has a good video camera. I tried out mine, and came out as digital garbage. So with his help, it will be coming, lottsa stuff.

There's many ways you can go with the whole drive train thing. I also got a TCI 3 speed tran. It depends on how much room you want to have for interior stuff, v.s. how much top speed, with what gear ratio on the axel gear box, etc... and adding in to the mix, nitros ox., superchargers, the weight of the car. My thing is the interior. I want to see the rear tires spinning, but top end is not a huge concern for me. I figured how much in terms of interior would I have to sacrifice to get this thing going at 150mph, which if it did, how many times would I actually go that fast. So I kept my whole car minus the engine/trans/etc, under 2,500lbs. A 5:1 ratio on the gear box, a small block v-8, and I should be able to spin some rubber. The whole drivetrain thing stops just before the firewall, and everything else towards the front of the car is passenger space. You don't even see the rack and pinion from the inside, nor from the outside. I definatley did not want to end up with a circle track car situation where the driver has to wiggle his way into the driver seat. No transfer case.
