Definatley no reverse. Why would Batman ever need to back up? If he comes to a brickwall in a hurry he's got friggin missles! Remember Joker's hideout scene in first movie? Plus, when has it ever shown the batmobile drive in reverse? Never!

the hydrolic lift is made for turning on a dame on fast reverses. if u wanna get tehcioncal and refer to book information about the car then the bm6 model
length 19.7 FT
width 7.9 FT
hight 4.5 FT
acceleration 0-60 in 3.1 secs
max speed 245 MPH
engine 1,200 jet turbine
Fule Hi-octane jet Fuel
Transmission 5 speed manual
drive train 4WD
while it doesnt say it does or doesnt have reverse inforation going by book info either i would choose to belive it does, he just never has to use it that often. as for it never showing it going in reverse in the movie, in movie world it never show what all the swtiches do but im sure that dont mean they dont do nothing. if u get my point

Batmobile can't be driven in reverse?
How would it work?
How do you reverse the jet thrust?
Does the front of the car suddenly become an afterburner so the car can go in reverse?
Also rembmer the axis chemical factory scene?
The car goes forward and puts on shield in a relative tight surrounding.
Then it is seen driving back in forward.
No amount of gadget or computer AI can allow car to reverse.
If such technolog existed, then there would be no such term as 'women can't drive'

"No amount of gadget or computer AI can allow car to reverse."
yea and sheilds poping out of the car is totaly realistic and can be done. all im saying is that if he can build sheilds that pop out of the car and cover he can easly deisng it to go in reverse even if it dident use the turbine engine, now someone correct me if im wrong but techinly the jet turbine pushes the car fowards using its power it does not control the back wheels so maybe there is a moter or something that could help it go in reverse. now i undestand with the front holding the turbine theres no room for a engine there, but going fomr the cars body deisng, the trubine doesnt run the leatgh of the car or the cockpit would have less room, ther for, maybe theres a regualer engine in the back area, since that part is closed off we never really see there.
as for the factory i would say theres a loop, and since he goes faster fowrads then he would in reverse he just went in a loop, we dont see all sides where it stops so the road could keep going. if its a dead end then it has no way to turn around sicne its a tight area then it be cought in the explosion.

seeing as it slides fowards as it does the end is prob taperd off(least it looks like so in the sketch) otherwise u would have a huge buldge in the cockpit where the throttle is. seeing as the seats in the batmobile are pretty much on the floor and the trottle is pretty close to it, the turbine cant go all the way back to the end of the batmobile which leaves about 4" to put a reg engine which means there would be plunty of room in the back area for a reglaer engine, maybe a explination for 2 gas caps? granted this isent the way a tubine would actuly exist in the real world, but once again its a movie, therefor, i belive the batmobiel can go in reverse.

The sketch shows central processing unit between the turbine and the cockpit.
