Kind of an odd place to locate the shifter, wouldnt ya agree?

Also, at the other end of my arrow, looks like a main battery shut off switch.   But if your inside, and you cut the power to everything, seems like you would be stuck, considering the canopy wouldnt work, huh?

Ah well, just learning.

Okay here's where you have to get past your inner child and remember "it's a movie".    The original cars had the shifter there too.  Probably put it there because it was out of camera view for filming.  Now if someone wanted they could easily make the aircraft shift the real shift, right NITRO?

Yet another thing i didnt know.   See i was always thinking that the originals used either the red or black shifter to the sides of the large shifter on the center console.

Didnt know they had a second shifter that worked all that.

Learn something new every day .  Thanks agian Jack

Hey Shaggy, my fabricator Don said it was no problem to connect the center lever directly to the transmission, but in reading the instructons on my B&M Quicksilver shifter they were very cautious in making sure you match the correct shifter to the Turbo 400 tranny. They say if alighnment in not just right you could destroy the tranny. So in buying the turbo 400 tranny rebuilding and upgrading it for $1100, spending $400 on a throttle quadrant it seems destroying half of a $65 B&M shifter is a bargain. Its cable connected so I guess we will attach the throttle quadrant diectly to th B&M mechanism so even the spacing between the shift points will be accurate as well as the reverse lock out......It is kind of weird why they did not incorporate that into the movie car but I'm sure it had more to do with an easier way to go......Just my thoughts....BWM
