RE: Board Members' CUSTOM Rides
HEY THAT's MY CAR!
That "i want a batmobile" site has shots of Don's bodies, My car finished, another one of don's earlier cars done, then all of samy's props! Those shots of my car are from Justin's web site.
This is a guy named "Martin" and he was buying up everything for a while there, including one of my babybat cars. Postage was in the many hundreds and the deal fell through. I believe Martin bought a set of molds or a body from DC at the same time, and had big plans of offering every TV car ever made!
As a favor to Don I said he could use my photos if it stated it was just an example of how a car could turn out, and I don't see that disclaimer anywhere.

I wouldn't worry too much Nate. The guy never answers his phone or returns voice mails and any email I sent him came back undelivered so I don't know if he's even still around.

DEE,
(Woodside here until my post count is up)
The ragtop is a '71 Triple Black Lemans Sport Convertible------my first "batmobile".
JTC-----that is a phenomenal 'ute! All the Bat amenities I see.
Does that baby shoot a flame out the rear?
There's a guy here in Cincinnati who has a '50's era pickup truck with '59 fins molded into the stepside blister fenders on his truck bed.
EVERYONE loves that truck. Thanks to his interest in my bat he wants to plumb a FLAME kit out each bumper end. I'll try to post photos.

Sadly it doesn't shoot fire...yet. Since I have a catalytic converter I would need something like propane injection.

RE: Board Members' CUSTOM Rides
Talked to the guy Martin from i-want-a-batmobile, some time earlier over the phone about an 89 kit. Said he had a body kit with the steel all glassed in place. He wanted around £9,000 for it, after he had made "some moulds" from it.
Don't know if he is still planning that, or if he still has the kit for sale.

RE: Board Members' CUSTOM Rides
Keep in mind that it's still very much in its infancy.
Donor:
Most recent pic I have of it:
Pay no attention to the 2x4's in the openings. I don't have the main metal bumper in right now so I can take the nose on and off easier. Naturally those won't be there later. The lexan covers are just sitting in the trays as well, they haven't been affixed yet. There's been a decent amount of work since then on stuff you can't see. Behind the lexan I've added sections that will allow the turn signals to show through so I don't have to relocate them. Am I the only one that finds themselves obsessing over things no one will ever see? The piece that's hanging in front of the wheel will also be attached to something, not just hanging there. Soon, it'll be time to get ready to paint!
Sorry Paul, I know this is all old news for you.

RE: Board Members' CUSTOM Rides
Heh heh heh. I wouldn't go that far but I must admit I love the lines of the 66'. Although it does rain in Ireland every now and then and every other day and the 66 has no roof.

RE: Board Members' CUSTOM Rides
No Roof?
I have just the fix for that:)
someday when I learn how to post photos that is....
ya martin did buy my 2nd generation 66 molds...and I let him use a few pics but he seems to have run with it more than I thought...
That GLEE 'was' mine'...I can't keep those things around...'sides
I felt like a goof drivin' the thing around town...not half as cool as a B mobile of any year.
I gotta admit though Paul's ride has the best set of gear shift knobs I've seen in a long time!

RE: Board Members' CUSTOM Rides
Nice car Maul!
As a matter of fact, I just bolted up a nose on a new client's donor tonight before we started shooting the show.
Can't believe I'm making another KR car!!!
As a matter of fact, I'm making a second one right after this and dropping off one at Star Cars this weekend.
I'll be there for a week getting the 95 on the roof where it was originally designed to go and setting up some new displays. If some of you TN residents are around that week, let's do a get-together!
"Where does he get those wonderful toys?"
He MAKES them you idiot!

RE: Board Members' CUSTOM Rides
Thanks a lot Dee and Paul! Yeah, it's no Batmobile, but it's still pretty cool. Plus, I've learned a lot that will help on a Batmobile later on. Paul, I'd love to see some more pics of your KR stuff sometime! (Not to mention the flying mousemobiles )
