The F-4 was my first love, it was a great fighter, and it was rare that we lost a crew in an F-4.
I was a long time before we recovered an F-16 crew. In the early years we lost a lot of F-16's and crews when they first came into service.
The old F4 J79 would stay in a Jet for a year or two before coming out for maintenance.
If the F-16A-B model PW engine would last a week you were doing good.

My dad was an F4 Rio in the Marines and he has a lot of great stories about the crap F4's the Marines got. BUT they did like the thing. Personally I think it's a tougher/cooler looking jet than most of the 16's and up.

I have only taken one a part . It was a 1989 batmobile turbine thingy. I know of no others except for John Evans crew that have done this.

I hope to paint these parts this weekend. I have a special paint process planned and we'll see how it turns out.

Sweet. I bought Chrome for the blades and Dark gun metal gray metalic for the housing. Nice job Jack. That baby looks the spitting image.

Where did all those parts come from Jack? They didn't come with your kit, right?

ha ha ha.... The outer can came from Nitro. It was some type of stove liner or something. Had to remove a few inches from the middle and add the pads. The inner part is the same piece that I made earlier this year, or was it last year? I don't remember. The blades I had cut were to short so I have to fine a place around here that can cut some more for me. Anyway it’s not as nice as the real deal but it’s all I got. The total cost including paint should be less than $200. Oh thanks for the compliments.
