I'm not sold on the idea yet, but I'm thinking about building a Tumbler.

It's a bit out of my territory, since I've always been more of a fiberglass guy. I've finished several kit cars over the years, and I've almost thrown down my money on Keaton car stuff on ebay over the last 15 years.

I haven't done a lot of metal fabrication, and I haven't welded since the college years in 95'. But I can't remember it being too hard.

Maybe I just need to take that first step of faith.

One thing I haven't seen talked about much in the Tumbler build logs is the legality of it all. I assume that if you build it with the plans to keep it, you don't have to worry about it being taken from you by WB?

As long as you're not going to try and make money off of the vehicle or put yourself in a position where you may be deemed representing WB, then you should be good to go.

Ok, so I shouldn't put a huge "WB" on the nose. That probably also means that I tell anyone and everyone that I'm not affiliated in any way with WB when they ask "did you buy that thing from the movie?" lol

Hehe, on a more serious note, here's a question for anyone that can tell me....Can anyone tell me what the original Tumbler measurement should be from the rear axle to the rear pivot/bearing point of the front suspension arms?

Also, I've read that the movie cars had 9" Ford rear ends, but I've heard of people using Dana's... just a difference in preference?
