| Hi Guys, new to the forum and love it. There are some brilliant builds going on here. I've decided to jump on the Tumbler bandwagon and have a go at a build. I've found various photos of the framework underneath the tumblers body but there seem to be a lot of different variations and i was wondering which one was best, or if anyone had some better pictures or plans of the framework. Thanks guys Niall

From what I've been able to see, the build log "Custom Tumbler Build" has it very close to spot on, with a few changes here and there for the frame. I would suggest following pictures of their build closely.

| thanks shaggy. my issue is the scaling. Obviously i want to build a full sized tumbler but am concerend that if i get the chassis frame dimensions wrong, the whole thing will end up with a different size.

I've heard some people say that it's best to formulate the exterior first, and then build the frame to support the exterior. I can't remember if that suggestion came from an experienced builder though.

I don't think I fall into the "experienced" builder catagory, but I feel that this would be the best way to go, personally. Fact of the matter, thats how I plan on doing mine.

Hi, the one in the custom tumbler build was all scaled from the front wheel. the tyre is a hoosier and rim size is 15 inch. I built the frame first and then got it on driving in nine months, once the frame and wheel base is done you can then start scaling the body, now this part is the hardest, very differant angles causing you lots of headaches. the we built was a steel body with about 10% fibre glass.
