here is a shot of the inside of it, as you can see, two types of wood used to give it a "thick" look  definitely the heaviest panel made so far

| Hey Shaggy my computer has been down and I've been pretty busy at work. Just wanted to say the Tumbler looks great and I hope you get a job soon. I know your a hard worker and eventually you will find the right job for you. Hey I just had a crazy idea wouldn't it be great to have a Tumbler that could float in addition to driving down the road? Good luck on the job search....Hang in there it will happen....BWD

Floating a tumbler is easy.
Just weld 55 gallon barrels to the outside.
Lets see water is 8lbs per gallon so you need 1 barrel for every 440lbs of Tumbler.
I'd say about 10 barrels would do it

| Hey Monte that would work but you'd have to haul the barrels in a trailer behind you...hehehe I meant like you could just drive right into the water. Like those amphibian vehicles....Too cool for school...BWD

Hey Dave, i mentioned your idea to the wife and she rolled her eyes like "omg, as if this thing doesnt have enough going into it as it is"  I personally like the idea and am taking it under extreme consideration. We are in a very wet region
I got the other panel done. Both are mounted and awaiting the next part to be installed.
This is what i have left of the car to build:
Still out hunting for a job. I've found that its alot more difficult to get one up in this region compared to Alabama. If you get an interview in Alabama, you've got the job. Up here, not the same at all.

Yeah, I know what you meant...
No use to worry about it, I'm pretty sure its impossible to float it. The internal sealed volume in the passenger compartment would have to be equivalent to those same 10 barrels. I doubt you could get "10 barrels" in there.
To verify it Shaggy could probably use his sketch to figure out the volume of the passenger compartment; and with the loaded weight of your tumbler; a little math and some imagination you'll be able to see it clearly at the bottom of one of your pools. 
OTOH if the bottom of the Tumbler was relatively flat, and the speed high enough, you might be able to skip it across the top of a small pool. (see Mythbusters (...or be one)).
Now quit daydreaming and get back to making panels...

i havent seen that episode, and sadly i'm now out of funds to buy more wood to finish off whats left of the car. So until i get a new job.....
Since you say that 1 barrel would be able to support 440 of tumbler, and since T-man's kart weights in at about 600 pounds, i think mine will be roughly double that, but not a pound more. So if only i can only find area to displace the same equivalency of three drums. A feat that will be basically damn near impossible. Unless the air in the tires are considered part of it as well. hmmm.

I had a job shadow yesterday with a tree care company. I was only job shadowing, but ended up making a sale my first day. I was told that doesn't happen very often. Kinda made me proud.
I start training next week, and will begin work after that. Simple job, and i can the potential to make mega money with this job. Wish me luck! More Tumbler work to come soon!
