Thanks Hunterbat! We'll have to wait and see about the steering and tires...i "tested" the steering with the stock blaster front tires (and a manco go cart rear)...there's a video of it in couple pages back my post..it did ok on the pavement...but now let's see how we do with this new heavier rear...even the real one can't make hard turns without the nose lifting! some guys around here have solved that problem (ahem...BWD)..

i'm not going to shoot this accross buildings. Small ranch houses....definetly.

So i'm still working with the four link...

meanwhile i'm thinking about the vertical engine. a 14HP ride on Mower engine. I started to think about the weight of my vehicle versus a ride on mower. when i'm done, i think it may be close to double the weight. (or even more). then i read this...

(from a website talking about racing rideon mowers and the briggs engine...)

"But to use an engine such as this stock would be a mistake. First of all, the governor will be removed. enabling engine speeds to approach double what the engine was designed for. This means that parts are going to take a severe beating and certain items should be replaced. First and foremost- the flywheel. The original is made out of solid cast iron and weighs in at 12-15 pounds. Cast iron is somewhat susceptible to fracturing from stress. Even microscopic cracks, not seen by the naked eye can cause a flywheel to explode at high speeds. While this rarely occurs, its something to think about since the flywheel will be less than a foot away from you -know-what."

I still need to get this rear done, but nonetheless I'm looking at other options for the engine...again

So the fourlink forward plates were adjusted on the advice of RaceCar Joe. He said traditionally the brackets are mounted straight. so i need to cut the top off to fit.

here's the vehicle on it's side...I wanted to weld the brackets on reeeally good - although I've welded pieces vertcally before, i feel i weld better on a flat horizontal surface rater than vertical.

one bracket on each side is welded to the frame on the outside and inside of the bracket. the second bracket is welded only on the outside as i can't get the gun to fit between the brackets at the proper "arc angle" to created a solid weld.

hay conrad I've been looking at the set up and I'm wondering ..are you going to put the heim joints in the middle of those brackets and run a bolt through?? I'm asking because it looks like you will not be able to use the top hole or the top one on the lower section because the heim joint will collide with the tubing (on top) and the frame(on bottom)..only if thats what you plan on..
