well heres my take the one with the body on is the hero car ..and the other was the stunt car ..that why the exhast is like that ..nothing hanging down..and in some other pics(not these) one of the  cars has flex pipe for exhast..plus the other has ajustable ride and the guns on it....

The engine in the bodyless chassis is an Oldsmobile..common on export Chevrolets....conversely, US Oldsmobiles were fitted with SBCs from around 76' up....GM actually got sued and had to pay restitution to some owners, because their Olds wasnt equiped with the "Famous Olds Rocket V8".......

Cool info so it could have been a Chevy?  But aren't all the GM big car Frames from that timeline pretty much the same?  Oh and where are those pictures of your projects?
