I just used common insulation foam that you get at Home Depot or Lowes. Actually, Home Depot carries the pink stuff which is slightly less dense than the blue. The only bad thing about it is that it's not compatable with polyester resin but it's not that much trouble to apply a barrier (latex paint, drywall mud, etc.) to the foam before using polyester. You could also use epoxy resin and not need a barrier.
Foam:
Covered in Mud (but not sanded yet):
Sanded and then painted. Ready for more mud:

Hey Tim,
Yours is looking Sweet ! It's truly hard to believe how so many hours of work go into these vehicles!
At least for those of us like me, who aren't auto-pros, or work in the vehicle fabrication industry, it sure is a challenge!
THANK YOU ALL.... FOR THE KIND WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT !!!
I hope to start some fiberglass in maby 3 months, but I just started rewiring the steering colum, because I found the one I purchaced,
" You betcha this will fit rite in that car you are rebuilding fella !!!"
DOESNT match the year of the car I have as a donor vehicle, because the wiring harnAssesssssss are configured differently, RATS !!!!!
:mad
So anyway, back to the salvage yard again this weekend
So, Thanks again for the kind words again gang
Bill W.
