How about a reference thread for these? I know I like looking through them, and Tim has stated the same. You can learn a lot of things that can be applied to making a Batmobile. Here's a good one on fiberglass molding if you haven't seen it:

| Wow that was a awesome website. I keep hearing how if you don't have around $40,000 not to even bother attempting to build a Batmobile. But I really don't see myself having a crew hired to work on it or me putting nearly as much professional craftmanship into it. My point is that if this company http://www.ddrmotorsport.com/faq.html can offer the entire car with those god awful expensive wheels and seats and such for $30,000 to $40,000, then it looks like one person doing the bodywork and just paying to have vehicle stretched and then painted when body is done should be able to come out for under $20,000 I would think. I mean that company shows like 12 different people working on that car and then they plan on selling entire car for 30-40 grand. Looks like you'd have to save $15,000 in labor from not hiring a 12 man crew. Just curious as to why it would cost much more then $15,000 to build a Batmobile?

I posted this a while back, so here it is again. You can build on a buget; it just takes a lot longer. The parts aren’t that bad, but it adds up quickly. The labor alone can eat you up alive, unless you have a lot of well-rounded friends willing to help.
Body Kit $15,000
Donor car $ 2,000
Frame & engine work $ 2,000
Floor boards, dash
& firewall $ 1,000
Steel for body $ 500
Radiator $ 200
Tail lights both sets $ 1,200
Gauge set $ 1,200
Seats $ 700
LT1 harness $ 700
Body harness $ 160
Actuators 4ea $ 400
Canopy glass $ 100
Resin, Mat & filler $ 2,000
Headlights $ 100
Turbine blades &
Welding $ 500
Exhaust & welding $ 500
Steering collumn & setup $ 300
Interior $ 2,000
Wheels & Tires $2,000

Most of the numbers are very conservative and doesn’t cover priming and painting and only covers most of the large components. There are so many items not listed here that runs up to thousands of dollars. This is if you do all the work your self, I would hate to see how much labor is involved.
I am sure there are guys here that can run these numbers through the roof.

No, I'd guess not... 
I noticed that he used the pink foam instead of the blue. They are the same thing basically but I heard the blue is more dense than the pink.
