JULY 29 | October brings a whole lot of the Caped Crusader.
Retailers are circling Oct. 18 as the likely street date for Warner's Batman Begins. This is the same date the studio releases Batman: The Motion Picture Anthology 1989-1997, which holds new two-disc special editions of the first four franchise films.
Packed inside Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever and Batman & Robin will be 18 hours of fresh bonus features, including Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher commentaries, exclusive documentaries and making-of featurettes. The Anthology will retail for $79.92. The special editions also will be available individually for $26.99 apiece. Orders are due Sept. 20.
Warner declined comment on the street date for Batman Begins. But the studio anticipates it will be a major fourth-quarter title.
Several weeks ago, Warner had notified stores to expect Batman Begins on Oct. 25, according to retail sources. The shift up might have been prompted by a need to stay clear of Fox juggernaut Star Wars: Episode III--Revenge of the Sith, which has been slotted for Nov. 1.
"I think [Batman Begins] is on a good date," said a big-box retailer buyer. "Star Wars now comes [a couple of weeks] later."
Predicting fourth-quarter fortunes, the buyer believes Star Wars and Warner's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will rank tops in sales. Next should come Batman Begins and Paramount's War of the Worlds.

Hey!, where is the U2 video that was made for batman forever? I dont care for the Seal song, but the U2 one was one of my fave movie featured songs of that year.
The SEs sound great, i would have loved to have more than just burton on the commentaries, he had paul rubens (peewee) on the commentary track. And i REALLY wish they would have had ISOLATED score tracks with commentary by Elfman on parts 1-2 and Goldenthal on parts 3-4. Anyhoo, ill still get the dvds, i will have to GIVE away my 4 batman films i have now
Signature under construction, expect delays.

Warner has officially announce two editions of Batman Begins which stars Christian Bale, Katie Holmes, Gary Oldman and Liam Neeson. Both the single-disc, and double-disc deluxe DVD's will be available to own from the 18th October this year. The single-disc should retail at around $28.98, whereas the two-disc edition should set you back around $30.97. Both discs will carry a 2.40:1 anamorphic widescreen presentation, along with English and French Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks. The only extras on the single-disc will be a Batman Begins Mobile Game Demo and some Weblinks. The two-disc deluxe edition will carry that, along with a Genesis of the Bat: Batman Incarnations from the Mid-1980s to the Present doc, a Journey Begins: Creative Concepts, Story Development and Casting featurette, a Shaping Mind and Body: Fighting Style featurette, a Gotham City Rises: Production Design featurette, a Cape and Cowl: The New Batsuit featurette, and another featurette on the new Batmobile. Completing the package will be a Path to Discovery: Filming in Iceland featurette, aanother featurette on the Monorail Chase Sequence, a Confidential Files Character/Weapons Gallery, an exclusive 72-page comic book containing the very first Batman story, a Batman: The Man Who Falls feature on the classic story that inspired the film, and a chilling excerpt entitled Batman: The Long Halloween that also inspired the film. We're also expecting an audio commentary to be included too, although that wasn't confirmed within the initial press release.

ok, that's me sorted out... Both Keaton Batman outings please. The Kilmer and Clooney films I will rent, the Bale I will leave until it hits the 2 for $25 bin and then get the two disc edition. Bring out the Justice League Season Boxsets for crying out loud, or the West show. It's a crime that the West show has not been released.
A little song, a little dance..... Batman's head on a lance.

Digitally Remastered with unreleased demo samples and cues, Also packaged with a special commentary booklet from Elfman on each piece of music featured on the original Score release. Also as a bonus the Animated Series theme Thrown in as an easter egg.
