The car in the pic above was at the WB archives when I was there. This Batmobile did not look like a runner and had the fake fiberglass "side detail" AND was used in the "turn around" scene. Maybe this was their gadget car? The canopy was broken but it still had the original Returns paint job and was not re-colored Onstar grey. It was also parked in between some other cars so it was tough to document. In the end we decided to copy the grey Onstar car that we verified as the 1989 hero car. I wish I had some detail pics but I'm sending the one I have over to Tim.

DonC, good catch, it looks as if the car is completely off of the ground. I guess it's like Dave said it's the "Turn around" car.
Justin, you said "Nope. I have it.", next you'll be saying you are a builder and have driven all of the replicas..... Hee hee hee hee
Man I'm glad to be back.

Car is not off the ground. It just looks like that. Even the caption is shown as Keaton driving the batmobile on the set. Otherwhise why would he have to put his head out like that?
If you remember, the movie also shows the batmobile being driven with the clown trippers extended.

I think in that particular shot it is off the ground and they're setting up the turnaround scene. I'd probably stick my head out too to see what's going on.

The side detail is what's throwing me off. Only one car had the fiberglass pieces and it was the engineless turning batmobile. That shot is just funny, looks like he's trying to get around traffic.
