And in the Keaton flick I watched the car "grow" a bulletproof shield out of thin air. Its a movie, man! Suspend disbelief for a few moments.

Here is an account from someone who witnessed the Tumbler in action, first hand...
"This new Batmobile is awesome, very scary and may I dare say--intimidating. There's nothing playful or toy-like about it. And the sound, it will haunt me for a while. It sounded like an entire pack of Harley Davidsons mixed with a swarm of pissed-off killer bees."

Just an FYI for fans of this car. The Hot Wheels collector version will be out in a few months and because of the box size issue again (kinda small), the diecast model will not be 1/18 scale but something like 1/20 scale. Same scale as the 1989 version. Don't bother getting that polystone maquette version...wait for this one, trust me. Opening/moving features and LOTS of detail.

Dave, still a great salesmen for Mattel. If you have some spare time today/tonight shoot me an email. Talk to you later, Jack

Do you know how it was made? Was it made from the same files used to make the real vehicle or was it resculpted or what?

It was made from the movie files (the CG "jumping" version)...not altered. I don't work there anymore but I have lots of friends that want to make this right...and we still talk. The one issue I do see is paint. There are a lot of copper/silver areas all over the place that I'm not sure they can afford, especially the interior.

Since you mentioned the interior, I have another question you may know. Is the interior in the movie different from the interior of the car in the photos above? In other words, is the interior you're talking about the one above? I know there were at least five Tumblers in Chicago so I suppose there could be specific ones for interior shots.
