Can you add the top speed for the batmobile on the specification page please. It's 245 mph. I got it from the book, Batman: The ultimate guide to the dark knight. Thanks (If you actually do it).

The info that I have is based on the official movie book from the first movie.
I didn't bother with the guide you mentioned b/c the drawings of the batmobile were all wrong in the guide.
From the cockpit to the cocoon and to the tire trims, they were all inaccurately drawn.

Besides, having a ??? as top speed adds more mystery feel to it.

Anyone feel I should change the top speed to 245 mph?

The two cars have small block V8's. there is now way these cars could go that fast. These numbers were just fabricated to add the mystique to the car as well as all the other cars have been.

You know what, sometimes you just have to get swept up in the magic.......... we all know it's only a V8 in the real world... so what!!!!!

If you guys really want to get anal, then yeah the real cars can do no more than say 145mph. BUT, look closely at the dash in Batman and Batman Returns and you will see a red light that says .... Drum Roll....... MACH!!!!!

Yeah baby...MACH 1!!!!! does this mean that at it's most powerful and at full afterburner reheat that this car can beat the landspeed record holder and reach the speed of sound.... well shit, it is the BATMOBILE.... and that's the whole point.

Mystery folks, you gotta love it.... just suspend belief... it's Batman... it's Fantasy.... and if you do build your own, put in whatever engine you want V8, V12, Turbo Aspirated.. NOS Injected.

Chi-Ching get's the Bling Bling.

Besides, I would like to see one of anakin's pod race engines built into my fantasy Batmobile.... now THAT sucka would move....

Rip Claw posted a comment requesting the speed be changed.
Then he sent me an email requesting same.
At the same time, he posted this thread.
And since then, he also posted same request on the guestbook.

For God's sake, Please, for sake of everything that is Holy, change the top speed to 245 mph. Lives depend on it. Rip Claw is depending on you! How do you live with yourself? Good day sir!

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT LIST THE TOP SPEED AT 245MPH.

The Koenigsegg CCR can touch that, and that is a production car. Source Koenigsegg.com good site by the way.

I am sure that Batman / Bruce Wayne would have a much faster car than a normal street-use car, what with a jet turbine afterburner and all.....Hmmmmmmm.

Batman : The Ultimate Guide is written for people who have a passing interest in Batman. People who, once they have read it.. think they know everything about Batman. It's really written for children.

How can you tell????? Errrrrmmmm.....Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns for a start. Dark Knight Returns is missing from this book, Dark Knight Returns people. One of the most singularly important works in the history of Batman. The book that turned Batman away from the wow-wee camp of the sixties and into a cool character again. Awwwwww did Dorling Kindersley not want kids to be horrified by this incarnation of the Scarwwwy Warwwwy Batman. I'm sure they would much rather have had the new cartoon The Batman for people to see. I'm sure even his new roadster in that cartoon can top 245mph....

You want my 2 cents, then go with the mystery.... easier to explain in one word.......UNKNOWN.

That Batman : The Ultimate Guide has the worst illustration I've ever seen any book.
More reason for me not to go by the book.

I've never read that book. But the OnStar ad says it has top speeds over 300mph, so I'd go with that one instead.
