Here is are several interesting questions asked of me today by a
person wanting to start a displayed collection of Bat suits. He denied
any plans to actually wear these Bat suits, but given their allure,
can we really expect that he will be able to resist, at least trying
them on.
What is and who makes the most expensive Bat suit?
What is the most preferred Bat suit by collectors of suits. What Bat
suit should hold the number one position in his collection?
What is the best Bat suit made?
What Bat suit from what movie is number one.
Anyone have any advise for this new collector and for others that
might be considering starting a collection?

He could try the site over at BrotherhoodoftheBat ? These are the guys who know most and build suits and props.
For my two cents, gotta be an 89 suit for the first
Most parts are still available (bat emblem, gloves and fins, cowl etc) or easily made (such as cape, gauntlets and boot spats). Armour can either be made cheaply of of foam or else bought. Urethane seems to hold up well for display but, I feel too heavy for wearing. I prefer latex stuff for lightness, flexibility and it is easily repaired and painted for matching up parts.

When The Dark Knight was released, I convinced a local drive-in theater to hire me to parachute in as Batman for the opening nights (the only time in my life I ever been actually paid to skydive). So, I had to come up with a Bat suit which looked good but would hold up to a 120 MPH wind in freefall. What I came up with wasn't exactly screen accurate but it worked. I carried the rubber cowl (the only legit part) in the chest of my suit, and put it on once my parachute was open. I also had the cape tightly twisted and stowed away, and let it fly once I was safely under canopy. Here's a vid:

Thanks! Yeah, the weather was a bit overcast but I jumped at only around 4,000 feet, which is normally where the real clouds would begin. The big issue would have been the amount of wind, and fortunately there was almost none those two days. You can't see in the video but I also had smoke trailing from my ankle for the first 45 seconds of the jump. The overall goal was to create a spectacle that would thrill the crowd and make the owners happy!
