Some Information about displaying live and/or replica weapons on Bat vehicles. The front gun turret in particular.
If the gun turret concerns you from a legal perspective, as in displaying it on the street, here is some relevant information. I have a Navy Seals dune buggy fully outfitted with replica weapons. It's all mostly about the observers perspective. If two or more people claim the display of the weapons system, replica vs real weapons doesn't matter, caused them to feel fearful, you have a good chance of being arrested, charged with brandishing, and/or aggravated assault, if they say your display weapons made them genuinely fear for their life.
Brandishing and Improper Exhibition of a Firearm What is “brandishing” a firearm and what are the considerations, laws, definitions, elements, penalties, required proof, etc.? When does brandishing or a careless or inadvertent exhibition of a firearm occur? What should we do to avoid it? Does it require showing that the person committed the act willfully, intentionally and with knowledge or just that the person accused acted “carelessly.” What is a willful, threatening, and/or careless act with a firearm? Almost all states and jurisdictions have laws about improper exhibition of a firearm or brandishing a weapon as some states refer to it. And they vary greatly among the states and jurisdictions in definitions, terminology, interpretations, and penalties… a very gray subjective area. Here are just some of the many complex and variable factors to understand and help guide you. I offer my ideas not as an attorney and not as legal opinion or advice, but generally to help you begin your understanding and encourage you to consult an attorney in your state about specific related laws and considerations for your jurisdiction. So don’t act on my information here, but seek out legal guidance for your specific circumstances before taking action or making decisions. My experiences as a lay person are with “Improper Exhibition” of a firearm in Florida.
So “brandishing” or “improper exhibition” or “defensive display” or “unlawful display” (or whatever your state and jurisdiction calls it) depends specifically on your state and jurisdiction. Very generally, however, for an operating definition “brandishing” means to display, show, wave, or exhibit the firearm in a manner which another person might find threatening. You can see how widely and differently this can be subjectively interpreted by different “reasonable” individuals and entities. The crime can actually be committed in some states by not even pointing a firearm at someone. In some states it’s a Misdemeanor crime and in others a Felony. So, focus, think rationally, know your state’s law, and be careful out there. vertigo

That's the least of my concerns. In fact, I never even considered it. The 2nd amendment of the constitution guarantees a citizen's right to keep and bear arms. I can walk down the street with my rifle under my arm and it's perfectly legal. Of course I will be stopped and questioned by the police, but they will have to let me proceed as long as I'm not breaking any laws. Even Machine guns are not actually illegal. It's just that you have to get a gun stamp to purchase one, and they don't give those out. That's how they get around the constitution.

Hello everyone,
Here are five photo images. These provide more than enough detail when used with the Moebius model to build a near perfect replica of the gun turret. vertigo

A few more things about the turret build,
It is a symmetrical piece meaning you only have to build half, usually with a combination of wood, foam, wax, etc., to build a master. Then use the master to cast, usually in reinforced fiberglass, for a much stronger more permanent project. vertigo

I ordered the 3d model. Should be interesting to see it. Would love to print it out if it isn't too expensive.
Thanks for the pix vert, might come in handy. I still think this is an actual gun that is in production, but I haven't been able to find it with lots of searching on the net.

Didn't know anyone was offering a 3D model. Who did you acquire it from? How accurate is it? What do you visualize it being used to accomplish from a builders perspective? Never seen this explored before from a Bat Vehicle builder's perspective. I'm sure many of those building Bat Vehicles or others thinking about building Bat Vehicles would like to learn from your experiences in your exploration of this potentially useful technology. vertigo

hey sly,
The alliance chart I looked at only rated that tire for a max of 40
mph and listed no DOT rating.
There are tires close to dimensions of the Alliance 328 that are made
by Mickey Thompson, Hoosier, Interco Tire Company and Titan Tire
Corporation. Many of their large tires can be bought as DOT street
legal radials. My Tumbler will have Interco Super Swampers on the back
and Mickey Thompsons on the front.
You can also go to tiresize.com or look up 40 inch tires for 18 – 20 –
22 or 24 inch wheels. Still exploring this last one.

Yes, I think I read somewhere that the actual top speed of the doj batmobile was really only about 50 mph. I'm sure the chose those tires for the look. They are skid steer tires designed for forestry equipment. I think finding an alternate tire will be more practical. Plus, I'm building at 80% size anyway so those tires will be a bit big for my build.
btw, I have a possible cool idea for the cabin roof. I will share it with you soon, I just want to check sizes first.

About that DOT tire rating,
If your tire doesn't have a DOT number branded on its side, the tire
doesn't meet all U.S. requirements. Not all tires are intended to be imported and sold in the United States, so the tire may have been developed and produced without being tested and confirmed to meet the
U.S. Federal Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS). As a result, these
tires cannot legally be used in the United States on public roads.
Penalties: Can be a fix-it ticket to 500.oo fine.
Many state, and some local police report it to your insurance company
who will likely void your auto-insurance. Get into an accident and you
will be sued for everything you own. vertigo
