I think or I know this Batmobile is the best yet, but they did have some in the Batman comics that were real great. But as far as the movies , they are going to have to really do some thinking to beat this one. I have a 1/18 scale an a 1/50 scale of it plus a small one in a plasic case it came in with the Batsheld (sorry about the spelling ) next to it, it is a 1/64 scale,I also have a 1/50 scale of the Batwing. I have also collected a 1/50 scale of the Batmobile off the animated series , I also ordered a 1/50 scale of the Batplane from it all so. Plus I have the Batboat & Batcyle. Anyway I mostly wanted just to say that this BATMOBILE is the best. Thank you;Rick;

I remember I once had some old Batman Returns flannel bedsheets decorated with that same blueprint/schematic, though for some reason its makers rendered the word "Satellite" as "Satilite"!

Does anyone know where I might could find anything similar to the Batmobile in like a golf cart. My little boy has Down's and we live rural enough that our neighbor lets him drive their golf cart all the time. He is 14 and I was hoping maybe if I just could find the ballpark price I could save and have something like it for his 16th. Thanks for any info. He's been looking at all the pictures for hours saying "Yep moma, that's what I want."

He Bat Dudes my 99 % replica will be completed by October this year.

I used a Nissan hardbody truck frame modified in length and width with 4130 tubing, with aluminum substructure. The plug was the toughest part using the blueprints and measurements from the the static display at Six Flags and some ideas from thier suppliers.

I think the average person can build it in about 6 months to build if you have experience on cars engines etc and knowledge of welding. I made molds from the plug and can re-produce the body for anyone interested.

My background is avaition structures with a degreee in Enginneering. This is a really fun project compared to aircraft I have built. Really very simple with exception ofcourse the simulated afterburner. Working on that ...

They also site their sources. An 80's Vette wouldn't have supported the weight of the turbine they used plus it lacked the support for a 20 foot long body that the '89 batmobile ended up sporting.

your all wrong its not a porsche its not a cady it was all custom built from the ground up with a built 350 running it,I watched the makeing of this film and thats what they said. and a flame thrower for the after burner.It would be awsome to build one with a actual jet engine but obviously thats not practical like some one els said with the cockpit in the middle.O and batman.He doesent need mirrors.

How does the engine work on the car? If its a turbine jet engine and if the Compressors are in the front of the car how does the compressed air reach the turbine blades in the back since the cocpit is right between them. And it cant be from under the cockpit because it will loose a lot of power.

from an article I read long ago when batman first came out, the keaton batmobile was built on 2 67 or 68 chevy impala frames welded together. That's just the frame so what else inspired or made up the body I don't remember.

Goes without saying that you can't base this on a car, a Vette is too small and has not the chassi to bear such a weight and length. The only cars you CAN base this on is a Lincoln or a Cadillac, or something like that from the 60/70's.

Okay I have a nice 1:18 replica of this amazing Batmobile, and I really admire the design, but I have a couple of practicality issue questions: Firstly, and very importantly, how does Batman see out the back... there is no rear view mirror, nor is there a rear windshield. Is there a hidden gadget somewhere which allows him to see? Also, the tailfins must be really obstructive for Bats' vision. Secondly, how would you take the Batmobile over bumps? The low body is similar to racing car designs for use on a racetrack but this car is designed for the road where there are speed bumps.

2 sets of blueprints, JPG and PDF. They both have the batmobile at different SIZES. Length for example, on the JPG blueprint is like 260", yet the length on the PDF blueprint is only 236"

Most comprehensive Batmobile site I have ever seen!! I would think using steel or aluminium for panels and just use fibre-glass for tricky bits (like fins). I wonder how many people have started and finished a full size Batmobile?

actually the first 89 B mobiles were on 2 stretched impalas...finally the bottom drawing shows the true heater shield shape for the roof of this car as designed,still not quite accurate but much nicer than the fan prints

Actually...the car went on sale on ebay about a little over a year ago with a very high starting bid of 100K. There were multiple pics, some of which highly resembled some of the pics on this website. I did store them on my computer a while back...but I attained a virus that wiped out all the info on my computer. My brother, stationed at Texas saw the car advertised for 400K. There were also some contracts that Warner Brothers would want the buyer to sign also when purchased. This was just some information I happened to cross paths with.

The PDF File blueprints are a beaut. Too bad they don't match up to themselves. I'm trying to build a keaton batmobile and when I started to sit down to design a frame with these blueprints, I noticed that the measurements don't add up (pun intended). Theyre a great starting point, but dont use them directly. I may just take my Batmobile scale model and take measurements off that to get a good scale schematic.
