Tumbler Windscreen

Here is a picture of the windscreen the window isn't cut out yet. The glass has already been purchased. It has a special coating. The panel pieces are made of aluminum and are anodized to give it that appearance. The frame and floorpan is completely scratch built and not a VW pan. There are double coil-over shocks for suspension. I will try to get this right that the rims are double wall construction and have two runflat tubes in each tire. He has even run over telephone poles with the car to see how it handles. The clearance is 14", he says that when all the panels are molded he is going to have the panels made out of Kevlar. And join them into one piece on the car so if anyone tires to mold the car they will have to cut the car in pieces.

RE: Tumbler Windscreen

What's he using for reference?

Is it like Bob just going by whatever photos are out there?

It'd be interesting to see who finishes first.

RE: Tumbler Windscreen

He had access to a car and took measurements. He says that he has taken some liberties when building the car to his taste.
I did the same with my 89 I cant blame him for that. He also says that the next one will fold in half. He has been watching the board and has enjoyed all our comments. I should be getting some more pictures soon.

As Bevis and Butthead would say he wishes to remain in Burrito.. LOL

RE: Tumbler Windscreen

So what's gonna happen on this backside?

You said it was done on purpose so is he going to make the jet burner bigger or put something else?

And will the cockpit slide open backwards like in the movie?

RE: Tumbler Windscreen

He told me that he was going to have one of the nozzle segments C&C machined and then make a mold of it to cut down on the build time and cost. I havent asked how it would open up. I haven't even seen how the real car opens up.

RE: Tumbler Windscreen

Can the kit be mounted on specific car or the body has to be custom made also?
