RE: Front Turbine Inlet

Jack, are you using Alclad II paint for these parts?

I don't have a batmobile, but I have a remote R2-D2

Nope, but thanks for the link to it. Looks like some pretty cool stuff. I'll be painting the parts tomorrow. I hope it all works out.

I think Nitro is sending you the one he has. The real one. You wouldn'd be happy with one made from wood and a stove liner?

Candy gun metal gray I knew it. That stuff looks great Jack.

RE: Front Turbine Inlet

That sounds right for my rear wheels but I'll have to double-check the backspacing. I do know that I could have off set them out another inch and it would have looked better. Wheel spacers, that's why I have the 3" lug nut studs installed on the rear.

The paint is actually a Candy Black. Or a clear with black tint added. It takes a ton of coats to get it to that color but looks great in person. I would have probably gone darker but I ran out of the tint. Probably shouldn't have used it on the side mechanic but I was testing out the idea. I also tried a Gold and a Copper base. Didn't care for it. Now if you want it to look even better go with the ALSA MirraChrome with the black clear over it. Probably sent you back around $400 but would look just like Dave's 1/18th Batmobile.

I'll probably paint the gas caps, exhaust tips, and rear turbine the same way I did the front.

The ehaust is routed on the center 2 tips, but I think it would hold up just fine.

Here are the wheels I used.

Thinking about these wheels (unpolished) for the front. I would rather go with the 8" wide rim, but will probably have to use a spacer.

This is what the black looks like over the gold. The side mechanics really do suck. Mark?......

Yes 15" tall but not wide. The fronts are probably 10" wide.

We all really do owe Dave big time. Thanks Dave!!

"MT" L60-15 Fits rim size 7.0-10.0. (MT Mickey Thompson and Mark Towle ) I think I'll put Mark Towle Indy Profile tires on mine.

Living large on the Markside!!! Shameless plug for side mechanics...

Yes thanks again and again Dave. Hotwheels really lost a great deal when they lost you. Thank God you were there when they got the batman line.

RE: Front Turbine Inlet

Wide or tall? They are for sure 15" tall the width is hard to tell.

Our cars can run MT Sportsman 33X19.50-15LT with a rim size of 14.0-16.0

The Onstar being a now proven wider car uses MT Sportsman 33X21.50-15LT rim size 15.0-18.0.

So I would say yes the Onstar rubs at least a 15x15.

Lets put this thread back on track.

I think it turned out pretty well. Actually I pretty proud of myself. Maybe I’ll start on the side mechanics next…..
