I think it could be done using most of the 89's measurements including the cockpit. Maybe RJ can work up a 1/4 scale in his spare time.

RE: Lifesize Batman TAS Batmobile

OK OK OK ITS SIMPLE YOU HAVE ONLY ONE QUESTION TO ANSWER FOR YOUR SELF WHAT SIZE RIM DOES THE CAR HAVE THEN SCALE THE REST OF THE CAR FROM THERE REMEMBER RIMS ARE 2 INCHES BIGGER THAN THE CALL SIZE FOR INSTANCE A 15 INCH RIM MAESURES 17 ON THE OUT SIDE OF THE LIP WHEN I WANT TO SCALE A CARS LIKE THE MACH 5 I PUT A PICT UNDER A WALL PROJECTOR THROUGH IT UP ON A WALLUNTIL THE RIM SIZE IS WHAT IM AFTER THE DRAW IT ON LAYOUT BOARD AN AND GET CORRECT MEASURMENTS FROM THERE

im gonna do a 1/4th mdoel for ever car i build so when i get to building the tas batmobile the 1/4th will come fist and im sure it will go a lot faster then the 89 lol.

thing i hate about making items form a cartoon, is u can scale up one picture then antoher and get 2 totaly diffrent meaerments,

RE: Lifesize Batman TAS Batmobile

That's the good thing about building something from a cartoon. You have some creative license.

If you are going to build this car to scale then it's going to be HUGE. If you want to modify it to a more reasonable scale then you really need to start witht the cockpit and design the car around that.

If you are going to fit two people in the cockpit and keep it as proportional to the original as possible, then it's going to be a very cramped cockpit.

This is pretty tight.

This is more the way they fit on the show.

Okay looks like you computer graphic gurus have this one under control. Lets see a scale mock up based on the 89s platform. 140" wheelbase, same interior size as the 89, and use your skills to figure out the wheel size. Good luck.

Well use Mark's trick and see how big they would be. Tell Dan I think I have the wheel and tire issue figured out.

I do it the same way Mark does it. I place the part on the overhead or transfer it to acetate. Using a known measurement of reference point, back off the part from the screen until I get the proper measurement, it is as simple as that.

i use the smae idea as mark, but dont go about it the smae way, when im building somethign i will usely find something i can agree on the measmernt then just inlarge it in autocad and set up blueprints.

But really, if you're going to modify the 89 car, then it should be modified to this.

RE: Lifesize Batman TAS Batmobile

Hello...I'm new to this forum, and was wondering if anyone knows who built/owns this BTAS Batmobile. I've been researching the possibility of buiding one, and would like to get any information I can. Thanks to all who can help.

Thanks for the kind welcome Jack....What I have is a '79 Lincoln Town Car...I was thinking of stripping it down, and giving it a shot...I know things like the wheelbase will be incorrect, but I'd like to see where I could go with it. -Matt

Uh oh! He don't look Happy. He's been using Brand X. But with new and improved Joker Brand, I get a grin again, and again.
