Step Point

Why do some batmobiles have extra thin step point on the side?

RE: Step Point

I think if Joel Schumaker had ever made another Batman film, Batman would have REALLY had heels...

RE: Step Point

That looks like a Trix body. Maybe the extra strip was fitted for the "Batgirl" models that wore heels in the Trix 89 gallery.

RE: Step Point

It's there for the stuntman's boots as mentioned above. There is another step on top of the intake, (Most of you guys will take note of the mold line on your cars) but few "first timers" will even notice this and because the car is so low, they go right for the diamond plate on the canopy rail. The BF Stunt show stuntman repeatedly jumps OFF the car to exit and my guess is that he was tearing up the bodywork. (5 or 6 times each day, 4 or 5 times a show, 7 days a week??? Would look like the hood of the Starsky Torino or the General Lee before long.)

And... I have to admit, if you not a girl, using that intake step makes you look sort of effeminate. Much more "Batman" to jump onto the canopy rail.

"Where does he get those wonderful toys?"
He MAKES them you idiot!

RE: Step Point

Batman could easily jump in and out of the car without using the step pad, but us mere mortals would probably do ourselves a mischief.

I think it would be a brave hombre to jump straight into the cockpit and land in the seat, maybe we should try jumping in head first, the bodyworkd would stay perfect, not sure about our heads though ???

RE: Step Point

Anyone know if there are seats made where the bottom of seat will fold up? The reason I ask is if you had seats like in movie theater it would be easier to jump in without worrying about breaking your ankle because you rolled it off front of seat. plus when you go to get out you could just stand up in car and then put one hand on side of car and do kind of a side jump stuntman move to get out. If anyone is seeing the image that is in my head please let everyone know what I'm thinking lol.
