show of hands

is it just me or do the top vents look to tall, i was going for a mix of the movie and model again. although this tiem went wrong cuz the top ones look to high,

also anyone that has a shell think u could grab me some good pics of the vents, all the ones i have show the vents but not at good angles, like a str8 on angle and a side angle would be gr8. and if u could grab a quick measerment of the hight of the top vent.

RE: show of hands

The top louvers are 12" X 3" 1 1/2" deep, they are angled more parallel to the ground.

The bottom louvers are 9" X 2 3/4” 1 5/8" deep.

Is the paper plate attaching to it? Because, ya know, maybe if whyle fighting crime, you might get hungry and you'll have a convenient place to stand up and eat a batsandwich or batburger or something.

RE: show of hands

the problem is i belive something to do with the eletrical system, i can isntall a new battery and it will die out fast, alogn wtih that problems are headlights seam to have a power fluxation, the cd paltyer will turn off when i hit the breaks, then turn right back on, will die out ever now and then first thought would be the alternator but thats appears to be working fine, battery connection termals are cleaned. car will start up evertime unless it dies out on the road then it wont even attempt to start as if the battery was dead.

RE: show of hands

It could be a dead short to the frame; this can cause a battery to go dead. Could be a bad alternator. A battery going dead can also destroy an alternator as well. You need to hook it up to an ohmmeter with everything turned off to see if there is a draw on the system.

RE: show of hands

lets say there was a higher power battery hooked up to the car at the time, and the batteyr jumped and hit the frame, cuz i think i frogot to add that.

RE: show of hands

RJ, you are a madman. I just went through your pictures and that has got to be the hard way! Even though they are not "movie authentic", I'm certainly not going to be the one to tell you to change them after seeing how much work you put into them. They look great. I am nowhere as good at working with bondo like that. The few times I have played with it I seem to mix it too hot and just make a mess with it.

RE: show of hands

i like bondo....

yea it was the hard way, i could ahve sculpted it out of caly, then made a cast, but im not big on clay, i like to work with measmernts, when working with clay i can never really get measmernts right, could have carved them form balsa wood, but adding the cruve on the bottom would have been tricky for me, so bondo was my best option (besides i needed to feed my bondo ball of doom anyways)

now the full scale, im just gonna bend metal to the shape, i went for that kinda 1/25 atm/movie style agian, im happy with them. bondo is soppsoed to get hot, thats how u know its working, u just dont want to touch it when it gets too hot.

RE: show of hands

Oh yes, I know. By mixing it "too hot" I meant that I added too much catalyst and it set off too quickly.

RE: show of hands

i used to have that problem, but problem i have a lot of the time is a mix too much, heceny how the bonbo ball of doom got started. but seeing as its been around for about 2 years i guess i dont waist that much bondo, lol.

RE: show of hands

yep, wanted to test meaaserment and some deisgn changes on the 1/4th scale before spending and waste money if my measmernts were off which some were, and if cahnge of deisngs a bit, so far i estimated i saved me close to 6,000.00 if not more.
